Yes, Montgomery is returning to the small screen, and she's certainly branching out from the roles she usually plays.
She will play a thief named Cat Chambers who uses her unique skill set to be the fixer for the governor of an island in the Pacific.
The series is titled Reef Break and has landed a straight-to-series order at ABC and is scheduled to debut next summer.
“Cat’s less-than-perfect past gives her an instinctive gift for understanding crime and criminals,” the official description reads, “as she becomes enmeshed in fast-paced, high-octane adventures and island intrigue.”
“We’re thrilled to add this new series fronted by Poppy Montgomery to our summer 2019 slate,” ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement.
“It’s an exhilarating and suspenseful ride set against some of the most beautiful locations.”
Montgomery previously starred in the likes of Without a Trace and Unforgettable.
Meanwhile, another reboot is in the works, and this time, Bewitched is the show that could be making a comeback.
Per Deadline, the new version comes from Kenya Barris, and will focus on a black single mother who marries a slacker named Darren.
The series has been given a pilot order, and more details will likely be announced in the coming months.
ABC was the home of the original series which aired from 1964 to 1972. A reboot was in the works at NBC in 2014, but the project fizzled out.
