Roseanne Barr: I'm Not Going to Curse or Bless The Conners!

at .

The Conners is coming to ABC this fall.

The spin-off of Roseanne only became a reality thanks to Roseanne Barr's racist tweet in which she compared former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett to an "ape."

Barr has opened up in a new interview with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach and admitted that she would be "staying neutral" on the project.

I’m not going to curse it or bless it. I’m staying neutral. That’s what I do,” Barr said on the podcast.

“I’m staying away from it. Not wishing bad on anyone, and I don’t wish good for my enemies. I don’t. I can’t. I just stay neutral," she said, adding:

"That’s what I gotta do. I have some mental health issues of depression and stuff. I got to stay in the middle, or I’ll go dark, and I don’t want to go dark again. I’ve done it.”

This is not the first time Roseanne has chatted about the incident with Boteach. She previously appeared on it in May and apologized for the hurt she caused.

“I don’t want to run off and blather on with excuses,” she admitted during the interview.

“I apologize to anyone who thought, or felt offended and who thought that I meant something that I, in fact, did not mean.

"It was my own ignorance, and there’s no excuse for that ignorance… I’m a lot of things, a loud mouth, and all that stuff, but I’m not stupid, for God’s sake.”

The racist tweet scandal may have dunked Roseanne, but allowing the Conners to continue means that the rest of the cast and crew will remain employed.

But what will The Conners actually be about?

Roseanne ABC Cropped

“The Conners stories demonstrate that families can always find common ground through conversation, laughter, and love. The spinoff will continue to portray contemporary issues that are as relevant today as they were 30 years ago,” ABC shared in a statement of the new series when a series order was placed.

It remains to be seen whether The Conners will emerge as a success or if fans will shun it without the inclusion of Barr.

Roseanne Quotes

Dan: Candyman's home babe.
Roseanne: Oh, my favorite, drugs! What happened to the rest of our candy?
Dan: Funny story. Our insurance don't cover what it use to so I got the drugs for twice the price.

Roseanne: Dan! Dan!
Dan: What? What happened?
Roseanne: I thought you were dead!
Dan: I'm sleeping! Why does everybody always think I'm dead?
Roseanne: You looked happy. I thought maybe you moved on.
