Blake Lively Plots TV Return: Get All the Details!

Has there been a Blake Lively shaped hole on your DVR ever since Gossip Girl went off the air in 2012? 

If so, then Amazon might have you covered. 

According to Variety, the popular actress could be gearing up for her big TV comeback, by way of a fashion-themed TV series.

What's more, Blake would be on board to develop the series, giving her a lot of creative control. 

The bombshell was dropped when Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon Studios appeared at the Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit on Wednesday. 

“Blake also has a huge appetite for a big scripted show with a really interesting writer who I can’t talk about yet that she’s targeted who will bring to life a scripted show that will be excellent and culturally relevant and original and all those things, but it will also have a connection to a merchandising opportunity,” Salke said.

While this sounds like a fantastic decision, Salke revealed that the deal is not finalized as of yet.

“We’re a moment from done.” She added, “Blake will be good with it. She’s in Rome right now, asleep.”

With that said, it does sound like Blake will be signing on the dotted line shortly.

There's no confirmation whether Blake would actually star in the project, but could you imagine a series about fashion without one of the most fashionable celebrities around? 

Lively has appeared in movies such as The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, The Shallows, and A Simple Favor, but the role that propelled her to stardom was as Serena Van Der Woodsen on The CW's glitzy Gossip Girl.

It debuted back when The CW was focusing primarily on females aged 18-34. 

There were no DC TV crossovers on the network back in those days, you guys!

The show helped hit the network's sweet spot in the younger demographics, and that's why it lasted for six seasons. 

It turns out; younger viewers really wanted to find out about the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite. 

Lively has likely been offered a lot of TV roles since her turn as the young blonde who could not keep herself out of trouble.

But following up such a successful show is no easy task, and that could explain why she is leaving broadcast TV behind in favor of the world of streaming. 

It's the rage these days.
