Take Two Canceled After One Season at ABC!

Rachel Bilson's return to the small screen will be a short-lived one.

ABC has decided against ordering a second season of Take Two, a summer procedural drama from Castle Executive Producers Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller.

Take Two launched in June to a mere 3.4 million total viewers and an even worse 0.5 rating in the adults 18-49 demo. Take Two Season 1 ultimately averaged 2.7 million total viewers and a 0.4 rating.

It did get a boost with DVR factored in, but not substantial enough to keep it around for more episodes. What could have kept it around was the fact that it was a co-production.

Those type of shows notoriously come in at a lower cost because multiple parties are funding the production costs. That's why it remained on the bubble despite the soft on-air ratings.

While ABC has nixed the series, The Hollywood Reporter reports that a pair of streaming services are interested in keeping the show around for additional episodes.

Rollins Working

We must stress that deals to revive canceled shows can fall apart at the drop of a hat, so it's difficult to get excited about it. What is interesting is that the streaming destinations are already interested in the show.

Take Two was fronted by Bilson and Eddie Cibrian.

"Ella (Bilson), the former star of a hit cop series, is fresh out of-rehab following a bender of epic proportion, reads the official logline.

"Desperate to restart her career, she talks her way into shadowing rough-and-tumble private investigator Eddie (Cibrian) as research for a potential comeback role."

"Though lone wolf Eddie resents the babysitting gig, high-spirited Ella proves herself to be surprisingly valuable, drawing on her acting skills and 200 episodes of playing a detective."

Rachel Bilson Attends Event

"When the press touts Ella’s role in solving a high-profile case, Eddie finds his phone ringing off the hook with new clients looking to hire the pair."

Okay, Take Two Fanatics.

Take Two Quotes

Eddie: No good deed goes unpunished is a universal truth.
Sam: Is it? Or is this about you? What happened three years ago. Marnie Star? Look like I said I do my research. I read the reports they all said it wasn't your fault.
Eddie: Well that doesn't matter. I was hired to protect her and I didn't.
Sam: And to punish yourself you started saying no. You went from the top PI in town to taking small jobs. You are just like me Eddie. You need a shot at redemption.

Eddie: I was too busy keeping an eye on you instead of the client. What the hell were thinking answering your phone in the middle of a gunfight?
Sam: I was trying to silence it so we didn't get shot.
