Bryan Cranston to Headline Showtime Drama from The Good Wife Creators

Bryan Cranston has lined up his return to the small screen. 

The Breaking Bad star has signed on to appear on Your Honor which will be executive produced by The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King alongside Cranston. 

Peter Moffat (The Night Of) is attached to a handful of the ten-episode limited series. 

Your Honor is a legal thriller set in New Orleans. Cranston is attached to star as a respected judge whose son is involved in a hit-and-run.

The horrifying event leads to “a high-stakes game of lies, deceit and impossible choices,” according to the official logline. 

“Peter, Michelle, and Robert have crafted an original thriller with gut-wrenching suspense, raw emotion, and moral complexity,” Gary Levine, Showtime’s President of Entertainment, said in a statement.

“And we are simply ecstatic that Bryan Cranston, one of the planet’s finest actors, shares our enthusiasm and has agreed to play the lead.”

While Cranston was an actor long before his turn as Walter White on Breaking Bad, the AMC hit marked a big change in direction for his career. 

Your Honor will serve as his first series regular role since Breaking Bad went off the air in 2013. 

Additionally, Showtime has revealed that Season 2 of The Chi will get underway Sunday, April 7. 

The official logline is below:

Produced entirely in its namesake city, Season 2 of The Chi will spotlight the ambitious plan by Brandon to make his food truck a success, while navigating the class differences with his girlfriend Jerrika.

Emmett will encounter a lot of bumps and bruises as he makes an effort to grow up and get custody of his son, guided by his mother Jada, who is discovering a new life of her own.

Kevin reckons with the trauma of what he has experienced in his young life, as he strengthens the bonds with his buddies, Papa and Jake, whose older brother Reg exposes Jake to twisted lessons in street survival.

Lastly, an imprisoned Ronnie will attempt to come to terms with killing Brandon’s brother and reclaim his life, while Detective Cruz launches a new investigation.

The season will also show the joys of living life on the Southside of Chicago.
