Don't count Grey's Anatomy out just yet.

Ellen Pompeo has opened up in a new interview about her future on the sudsy medical drama.

I keep saying, ‘I’m ready to move on and I want to stop the show before the ratings go down,’ but the ratings never go down!” the Meredith Grey actress revealed to TV Line.

“They go down a little bit, but the fact that we are able to hold our [title as ABC’s No. 1 series] is kind of [incredible]. It’s very cool to have these kind of ratings and be on a hit network show in this [Peak TV] landscape.”

While many would grow tired of being in the same role for fifteen seasons, Pompeo opened up about why she continues to star on the show.

“It’s [a] pretty nice place to work,” Pompeo dished.

“I like my situation here. As much as the idea of something new appeals to me… the truth is I have three kids."

"I don’t really want to travel and leave [them]. I don’t want to be a circus traveler and live in hotels. And the network and studio continue to incentivize me and just make me offers that I can’t refuse.”

The new comments from Ellen come just months after she hinted to Entertainment Weekly that her tenure on Grey's Anatomy could be coming to an end after Grey's Anatomy Season 16.

“I’m clearly not prepared right now to make any formal announcement about what my future is on the show, but I am really feeling like we have told the majority of the stories that we can tell,” Pompeo told the magazine, adding:

“It’s about time that I mix it up. I’m definitely looking for a change.”

Grey's Anatomy Season 15 was recently supersized by ABC. It was increased to 25 episodes, and with those extra episodes, it will become the longest-running medical drama on TV.

For its part, the series is averaging a 1.7 rating in the demo for ABC in live + same day ratings. It still commands sizeable increases in delayed viewing and remains ABC's highest-rated series.

Many thought Ellen's September comments meant the show as ending with Season 16, but with the show still successful, it could potentially go on for several more years.
