Netflix is bringing Darby Stanchfield back to the small screen.
The Scandal star has been added to the cast of the streamer's upcoming comic book drama, Locke & Key, according to Deadline.
Stanchfield will play the role of Nina Locke, the mother of Kinsey, Tyler, and Bode.
The 10-episode drama series focuses on the Locke siblings Kinsey, Tyler, and Bode (Emilia Jones, Connor Jessup & Jackson Robert Scott) who move to their ancestral home in Massachusetts following the gruesome death of their father.
However, they quickly learn the house has magical keys that give them a wide array of powers and abilities.
A devious demon is on the lookout for the keys and will turn to the deadliest of tactics to get them back.
It does sound like the perfect show for binging, and we're sure Netflix will make the long wait for this series worthwhile.
Locke & Key was originally developed by Fox for the 2010-2011 TV season. Despite not being given a series order, the network went on to show it at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con.
Hulu then ordered a new pilot in 2017 but declined to give it a series commitment in 2018, leaving producers scrambling to get the show on the air.
Netflix then ordered a brand new iteration of the series, but the Hulu pilot was discarded. Yes, it's been a long road to the screen for this project, and we're sure the new home will be the perfect one for the show.
Stanchfield is best known for her role on Scandal as Abby.
The series came to a close last year after seven seasons. She has also appeared on other hit TV shows such as Mad Men, NCIS, Jericho, and General Hospital.
