FBI: Most Wanted Nabs Julian McMahon for Lead Role!

at .

You know what happens when an unexpected actor gets cast on a spinoff?

It makes the spinoff that much more interesting to potential viewers who don't already watch the parent series.

That's the case of FBI: Most Wanted, an early spawn of the CBS series, FBI starring Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Saki, Sela Ward, and Jeremy Sisto.

Julian McMahon has snagged the lead in FBI: Most Wanted which will debut as a backdoor spinoff of FBI later this spring.

McMahon can currently be seen in Marvel's Runaways, but he has a long history of great roles on television.

Additionally, McMahon can slip into the roles of both the good guy or bad guy with little difficulty.

He'll play Jess LaCroix, an “agent’s agent” who at the top of his game, according to Deadline.

LaCroix oversees the team from the FBI’s Most Wanted Unit, which is assigned the most extreme and egregious cases.

The spinoff, which already has a series commitment, is written by Dick Wolf (FBI, Chicago Franchise) and Rene Balcer, a writer/producer for Law & Order: SVU.

While FBI hasn't been a smash hit in the coveted demos, it has done very well in areas that CBS has always reached in high numbers, making FBI a hit for the network.

A spinoff by the prolific writer and producer Wolf makes a lot of sense for the network as his franchises have been hits and attracted millions.

As for McMahon, he's starred on some interesting series through the years and the lead in a procedural will be something different for him.

For many, McMahon is best remembered as Cole Turned from Charmed OG. The character was a demonic love interest for Phoebe Halliwell.

He went on to star on Nip/Tuck, an FX series focusing on two plastic surgeons and their own proclivities with the rich and famous.

Most recently McMahon could be seen not only on Runaways, but also Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Agency.

What do you think about McMahon landing the lead role on FBI: Most Wanted?

Would you be more willing to tune into the show to see what he can bring to the series?

Do you have any ideas on who you think should join him in the cast?
