It's the end of the line for one of TV's most popular families. 

ABC has revealed that Modern Family has been renewed for an 11th and final season, confirming the rumors that the series will end its run during the 2019-2020 TV season. 

The news was revealed at ABC's TCA panel. 

While many thought the current tenth season would be the last for the long-running comedy, Deadline recently reported that the adult cast had reached deals with 20th Century Fox TV to stay with the show for one more season.

Launching in 2009, Modern Family was an instant hit for ABC and has won 21 Primetime Emmy awards.

Like most long-running series, it has lost steam and buzz as the years have gone by. 

Modern Family Season 10 is currently averaging a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49.

This is down just over 10 percent year-to-year, but it still ranks as ABC's third highest-rated show in the demo.

Modern Family joins The Good Doctor and A Million Little Things which were also renewed during TCA. 

There's still no word yet on an exact episode count, but a truncated run might be the best way to end the series. 

Modern Family has lacked in the comedy department of late, so it would be great for it to go out with a more focused season. 

For now, Modern Family Season 10 is well underway, and you can catch the family on Wednesdays at 9/8c.
