The 100: 21 Times Bellamy Blake Won Hearts With The Look™

at .

The concept of The Look is getting more and more appreciation, but there is something about the sheer success that The 100 has in that arena because of Bellamy Blake.

Bob Morley manages to pull off romantic looks left and right, using his abundance of talent to deliver some pretty iconic moments.

It is rare to get a male character like Bellamy who is allowed to show his emotions so openly, enough to get a trademark look in the process.

23 Male TV Characters That Have Perfected The Look™

The 100 may not be a show about romance, but Bellamy Blake singlehandedly proves why it should have more of it.

He is the romantic male lead we have been waiting for, mostly because he makes fans wish they could have someone look at them the way Bellamy Blake looks at those he cares about.

It doesn't help that most of those looks are directed at his soulmate, Clarke Griffin, which really makes it all come full circle.

The 100: Expanding On Bellamy Blake's Romantic Life (And Its Value)

Here is a selection of some beloved looks that Bellamy Blake has blessed us with on The 100 over the past five seasons.

Did your favorite make the cut?

1. Bellamy looks at Clarke during Hakeldama

The 100 Season 3 Episode 5 is known for its emotionally charged exchange between Bellamy and Clarke, with so much of it coming from the way that they looked at each other. There are no words to describe how well executed this was, proving that allowing your leads to not only feel emotions but to openly talk about them from time to time is where most of the show's success can be sometimes.

2. Bellamy looking at Clarke during Join or Die

There are not enough words to describe how monumental this sequence was. The focus on Bellamy as he wanted the last thing he saw (possibly ever) to be Clarke speaks volumes of the way he cares about her. The camera work aided Bob Morley's acting as he gave us one of the most subtextual scenes in Bellamy and Clarke history.

3. Bellamy looks at Clarke during Unity Day

This was some next level flirting and it honestly seems like Bellamy and Clarke would have hooked up that night. As great as Bellamy's emotional looks are, the way he can flirt from time to time is a piece of art in its own right too.

4. Bellamy looking at Clarke during Pandora's Box

The way Bellamy's looks can feel like a physical hug is happening is a skill worth noting. Seeing Clarke in front of him without danger looming over their reunion allowed the focus to be on the way he looked at her. It was soft and comforting because it held so much disbelief that she was there in front of him. This was a look worth looking back on, especially when their relationship drifted a bit during The 100 Season 5, this was a moment that showed that their love for each other wasn't actually lost.

5. Bellamy looks at Clarke during Echoes

Keeping Clarke alive might be difficult, but Bellamy is always up for the job. There is a certain payoff in not having your characters always surrounded by doom and gloom.

6. Bellamy looking at Clarke during Praimfaya

All the touching in this episode couldn't even compare to the eye contact that was going on the whole time. Bellamy may not have known that this would be the last time he saw Clarke for a while, and yet he still put it all on the line. The looks were so prominent in these scenes because of how much love poured out of them.

7. Bellamy looks at Bree during DNR

Drunk Bellamy is really rare to even see on The 100, which is why getting to experience this flirty look was like seeing a shooting star from fans. It was a relaxed moment for Bellamy that we could only dream of as The 100 Season 6 approaches.

8. Bellamy looks at Clarke during Day Trip

This is definitely a look that would convince someone to run away with Bellamy, there is probably even a parallel universe where Clarke did exactly that. It might not exist in our world of The 100, but at least we still have this scene as a nice memory of what could have been during The 100 Season 1.

9. Bellamy looks at Clarke during We Will Rise

There may be relief in Bellamy's expression, and there is also that protective part of him that keeps this looks as one of our favorites to this day.

10. Bellamy looks at Gina during Wanheda: Part One

Gina was real and so was the way Bellamy looked at her. It was a short-lived relationship but in that time it was nice to see Bellamy's romantic life getting the attention it deserved, especially when the pay off includes sweet looks like these.

11. Bellamy looks at Clarke during Wanheda: Part Two

What even was this? Bellamy literally went on a journey to save Clarke, only to see her captured and in his attempt to rescue her he was so happy that he even brushed her face. It was a lot, almost too much if you consider how romantic this came off for such "platonic" soulmates. But that is what made it so special, you don't do all that for someone unless you really care for them and this look is only more proof that Bellamy had a crush on Clarke during The 100 Season 3. He may not have known it yet, but we definitely did.

12. Bellamy looking at Clarke during Damocles – Part Two

Finding out about those radio calls was the best thing The 100 Season 5 gave to Bellamy and Clarke fans, it inspired this look that left plenty of questions in its path. This is awareness, Bellamy's understanding of his new dynamic with Clarke is now more clear. He understands how much she cared about him all this time, and this look is nothing if not promising of at least a conversation.

13. Bellamy looking at Clarke during Human Trials

This was the least subtle look of all time, Clarke and The 100 fans were all onto Bellamy at this point. There is something quietly lovely about this though, Bellamy watching over someone he cares about and the two of them just getting that moment of peace before the next big traumatic twist.

14. Bellamy looking at Clarke during Shifting Sands

Bellamy had no idea how much emotional turmoil Clarke was going through right here, and yet he couldn't look away from her. Who wouldn't want someone who looks at you even when you don't know it? It is like Bellamy is still learning how to grasp that Clarke is right in front of him, an emotionally calculated look that was years in the making.

15. Bellamy looking at Clarke during We Will Rise (again)

There was so much left unsaid in this scene, with Bellamy wondering if this was the last time he would get to see his partner. Bob Morley stepped up to that challenge, showcasing a conflicted look that was bordering on something huge. Clarke reminding Bellamy just how special he is pushed a range of emotions to the forefront for him.

16. Bellamy looking at Clarke during The Four Horsemen

There is not a person in the world who wouldn't want to be looked at the way that Bellamy looks at Clarke here. Him making sure that she is on the list if he is was shockingly domestic for an end of the world inspired conversation. Bellamy didn't have to look at Clarke that intimately, but he did and we are all still recovering from that.

17. Bellamy looking at Clarke during Sleeping Giants

Bellamy didn't see Clarke for six years, yet still managed to steal our hearts when he appeared like the hero that he is to save the day. He was the romantic lead the show was waiting for, with the strong look and dialogue to go with it.

18. Bellamy looking at Clarke during The Chosen

Bellamy was so busy looking at Clarke that he crashed the car he was driving. This is proof of Bellamy's commitment and it just made people love him more.

19. Bellamy looking at Clarke during Heavy Lies the Crown

This was one of the blink and you will miss it looks, almost like the camera caught a look that wasn't meant to be noticed. Bellamy is always aware of Clarke, and that is the kind of look that deserves some attention. It is subtle but it has such value when you put all of the looks together.

20. Bellamy looking at Clarke during Human Trials (again)

Watching Bellamy and Clarke reunite for the first time was so beautiful because of the heart and soul that was put into the scene. It was all about an emotional look, with Bellamy going above and beyond to set a tone for the rest of The 100 Season 2.

21. Bellamy looking at Clarke during Blood Must Have Blood, Part Two

How Clarke was able to walk away when Bellamy looked at her like this is still the real mystery of The 100 Season 2. Bellamy put his entire heart on the line and this scene has to be considered one of the most iconic on the show.
