Given the severity of the allegations, it's unclear if it will be honored, but there's a lot many don't know about this case, and it's possible that many will never know the full extent of what really happened.

"What is unexpected, however, is the prosecutorial overkill in charging 16 separate counts against Jussie," Geragos said in a statement last week when the news broke.

"This redundant and vindictive indictment is nothing more than a desperate attempt to make headlines in order to distract from the internal investigation launched to investigate the outrageous leaking of false information by the Chicago Police Department and the shameless and illegal invasion of Jussie's privacy in tampering with his medical records."

The actor is next scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, April 17, but this case has been filled with twists and turns over the last several weeks, so it's possible that more bombshell developments will come to light in the coming weeks.
