If you tuned in for Arrow Season 7 Episode 18, titled "Lost Canary" on Monday night, there's a good chance you thought The CW drama was losing another series regular ahead of its final season.
The explosive installment focused on Laurel returning to her old ways as Black Siren. It even resulted in Sara Lance returning to help the Earth-2 iteration of her sister see the light.
In the end, Laurel returned to the side of good, but there was a major caveat:
Laurel decided that the best course of action for her was to return home to Earth-2 with the aim of tying up loose ends and making a life for herself on her home planet.
The plot twist left many fans reeling, primarily because it seemed to confirm that Katie Cassidy's tenure on the series was over.
Thankfully, that's not the case.
Speaking to TV Line after "Lost Canary" aired, Arrow executive producer and showrunner Beth Schwartz confirmed that fans have not seen the last of Laurel.
"She’s still [part of the show].”
Echo Kellum departed the series earlier this year, leaving behind his Curtis Holt role, but there's word that he could pop back up as a recurring player.
Then there's Emily Bett Rickards, who has played Felicity Smoak since Arrow Season 1. Rickards confirmed last month that she was bowing out of Arrow ahead of its final season.
Fans were confused because it's unclear how the exit will be handled on-screen given how late it was announced.
Rickards has already filmed her final scenes, and the season finale is slated to air next month.
Arrow was renewed earlier this year for a ten-episode final season.
