Knightfall Season 2 Episode 3 Review: Faith

Landry does what he wants and on Knightfall Season 2 Episode 3 he wanted to be a superhero.

But as sometimes happens with impossible dreams, he failed until the real superhero of the hour showed him how it's done.

We knew it wouldn't take long before Talus and Landry made a connection.

United - Knightfall Season 2 Episode 3

Landry's ill-fated attempt to take down the Luciferians on his own in order to spare the lives of his brother Templars provided that opportunity for connection.

Talus might have acted like a hardass to Landry, but deep down, he liked what he saw. He knew Landry had the heart and soul of a Templar, he just needed to get his head out of his ass.

Talus Gives Advice

Going after Luciferians and hoping to get killed wasn't the way to do it.

It was expected that the Templars would have shown up to save Landry's day. We know Tom Cullen isn't going anywhere yet.

What was surprising was that Talus came alone.

Not only did he arrive alone to take down the rest of the Luciferians, but he also took Landry back to the Templar fortress in a powerful show of unity which stunned his fellow brothers.

Will He Survive? - Knightfall Season 2 Episode 3

Talus understood how much guilt Landry felt and how hopeless he felt for everything he did. He knew that Landry only wanted to save his brothers because he wanted to die himself.

It wasn't what Talus wanted to hear, but he also understood, even sharing his own story of hopelessness.

Talus was never going to give up on Landry. He might have not liked him or wanted him back in the Templar order when Landry first showed up, but he saw something of himself in the fallen knight.

Talus knew that Landry's failures would make him stronger, but he didn't necessarily realize that Landry was at the end of his rope.

Everything was going wrong from Quentin's death to Draper's death and everything in between.

That's why Talus went after him. If Talus thought Landry was just trying to be a rogue superhero, he would have let Landry die.

Talus knew that Landry's burden was too great and that he wasn't going to be able to pick himself back up again.

What Landry needed was hope and faith.

What was great about that moment was that what Talus said was what Landry needed to hear.

He didn't need Talus berating him or calling him names. He needed understanding. He needed tender guidance (as tender as Talus could give him) and he needed to hear that he wasn't abandoned by God.

There was a purpose for him, and it was now Talus' duty to show him that purpose.

Talus had become Landry's personal savior.

Personal Savior - Knightfall Season 2 Episode 3

As mentioned earlier, the other Templars were stunned to see Talus riding in with Landry. It showed all of them that if Talus could forgive Landry for his sins, then all of them should be able to, too.

Their unity also paved the way for a united Templar order. All of them joining Talus and Landry in prayer was a powerful moment, and something they all needed.

The biggest fight of their lives is on the horizon, and they need to be united in faith and in brotherhood.

While Landry and Talus were becoming mentor and mentee, Louis was having some issues.

His glee in finding and killing the kingdom's newborn boys wasn't just because he wanted to punish Landry, but because he himself isn't able to produce an heir.

Who knows why he's having trouble in the bedroom, but he better hope Margaret doesn't betray what's happening because that will spell doom for him.

Philip thinks it's Margaret's fault, but he'll blow a gasket if he learns the truth. He'll kill Louis because he'll see him as an embarrassment and would probably end up taking Margaret as his own to produce another heir.

Isabella - Knightfall Season 2 Episode 3

But Margaret has a lot more to worry about than just making babies. She was a bitch to Isabella and Louis' little sister isn't going to sit by and let anyone talk to her that way.

Isabella has no intention of listening to her father, and she has no intention of letting Margaret become the Queen of France.

I don't know exactly how it will all go down, but there's one big juicy showdown coming our way between these two ladies.

But let's go back to Louis for a moment.

Shared Secrets - Knightfall Season 2 Episode 3

Not only does he have bedroom issues, but he's also teaming up with Gawain who Philip doesn't like and doesn't want around.

It figures that DeNogaret would connect the two bad boys, but this will create an even bigger rift between father and son.
