We already knew going into the 2019-20 season that there would be some big changes at FOX.

With the network becoming an independent network, it was evident there would be some big swings.

Cookie's Pain - Empire Season 5 Episode 1

Empire, which has spent its first five seasons on Wednesdays is being moved to Tuesdays for its final (!) season.

It will be paired with The Resident, which is leaving its Monday at 8/7c slot.

9-1-1 will move to an hour earlier and will lead into new fall drama, Prodigal Son. The move is not surprising.

The Resident has proven to be a resilient performer, so the audience should follow it to the new night.

Ensuring His Safety - Tall - The Resident Season 2 Episode 23

The Masked Singer will fill in for Empire on Wednesdays and will lead into Jason Katims' new drama, Not Just Me.

With WWE Smackdown taking Fridays, there's no word on when Last Man Standing will return to the air.

Bob's Burgers and Family Guy are also moving to new time periods, while grandaddy The Simpsons remains in the 8/7c slot.

"Today marks a new beginning for FOX Entertainment. So it is with a start-up mindset and, upon an incredible foundation of assets, that we deliver our first slate of new comedies, dramas and unscripted series," said FOX boss, Charlie Collier.

"Alongside top creators and talent, and through innovative partnerships across the industry, we are redefining what it means to be an entertainment company, and what it means to be FOX, for 2019 and beyond."

All told, have a look at the full schedule.

Prodigal Son

Logline: Malcolm Bright knows how killers think. Why? His father was one of the best, a notorious serial killer called “The Surgeon.”

That’s why Bright is the best criminal psychologist around; murder is the family business. He uses his twisted genius to help the NYPD solve crimes, while dealing with a somewhat manipulative mother, an annoyingly normal sister, a homicidal father still looking to bond with his prodigal son and his own constantly evolving neuroses.
