It's been a wild week with all of the networks swing their axes when they weren't picking up new shows or renewing their current lineup.

So, it's time for some good news again!

Nathan Fillion fans can rest easy knowing their favorite Rookie will be returning, and fans of four comedies are also getting a welcome pass.

Things Get Intense For Nolan - The Rookie Season 1 Episode 19

While The Rookie could have been a weary-eyed look at ageism in the workplace, the Nathan Fillion vehicle went much further.

Using the star's power to propel a well-conceived drama about law enforcement that didn't pull any punches when it came to some very high stakes for the characters.

13 Reasons We Need The Rookie Renewed!

The Rookie Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger that left one member of the force (a seasoned officer) in dire peril.

With the loss of a police captain already under its belt, that left The Rookie fans clamoring for more.

Freshman series and mid-season entry Bless This Mess starring Dax Shepard and Lake Bell, who also co-created the show, has lived up to its funny premise.

The series takes a look at a couple who wants to escape all of the drama surrounding city life, so they head to the country where one has inherited a homestead.

Of course, nothing is as they imagined, but it's turning out to be a lot more than they expected, too.

If you haven't watched for fear it would get ripped away, now is your time to bless that mess.

Critical darling Fresh Off the Boat will also return for more antics with the Huang family.

Constance Wu and Randall Park headline this refreshing look at life in the United States for a family who doesn't have the deepest roots here.

A move to Fridays didn't help the ratings of FOTB, but it never nosedived, either.

Thankfully, we can look forward to more!

Also renewed is American Family, starring Katy Mixon and Diedrich Bader as the heads of another crazy household.

The premise of Mixon's character never quite fitting into the neighborhood where the family relocated never seems to get old.

But what will get old is the very clever commercial she shared with Splitting Up Together's Jenna Fischer.

And finally, the freshman series about raising kids on your own will return for another season.

Single Parents has delighted fans of the genre since it first began airing with its colorful cast including Leighton Meester, Brad Garrett, Kimrie Lewis, Taran Killam, and Jake Choi.

So tell us what you think of this good news?

Are you thrilled The Rookie is returning? Even if it might have been at the expense of the New York Undercover pilot?
