This Is Us Season 4 Taps Jennifer Morrison for Key Role

Jennifer Morrison's return to the small screen has been locked down.

TV Line is reporting that the former Once Upon a Time favorite is joining the cast of NBC's This Is Us.

Morrison will be a major recurring player during This Is Us Season 4, but that's all we know about this new role.

This Is Us, in particular, likes to keep plots under wraps until transmission, so it's possible that no other details will spill out until Morrison debuts on the series in the fall.

NBC revealed earlier this week that the tear-filled series would return with its fourth season on Tuesday, September 24 at 9/8c.

There's no end for the series in sight because an additional two seasons have already been ordered following the fourth season, so there's that.

It has been speculated for a while now that six seasons would bring the storylines to a natural conclusion.

Whether that will remain the plan when we get to the sixth season, is up for debate. It's common for plans to change, especially if shows are still resonating.

As for Morrison, this will be her first regular TV gig since she wrapped her seven-season run as Emma Swan on ABC's Once Upon a Time in 2019.

The actress was previously signed up as the lead cast member on CBS pilot, Under the Bridge.

However, the medical drama did land a series order, freeing Morrison up to take on the role on This Is Us.

Aside from OUAT, Jennifer is also well-known for her roles on House and How I Met Your Mother. She is no stranger to the small screen, and she has a legion of fans.
