Sad news, Brooklyn Nine-Nine Fanatics!
Stewart, the beloved dog who played Cheddar on the NBC hit, has died aged 13.
The corgi's owner announced the sad news on Instagram but confirmed Stewart got one last trip to the beach before being put to sleep.
“We went to the beach (his favorite place) where he frolicked in the surf and then enjoyed a picnic lunch of In & Out burgers," the post reads.
"We relaxed in the sun and just enjoyed each other’s company."
"Our veterinarian met us there later and Stewart went to sleep peacefully in my arms while listening to the sounds of the ocean."
"He was a one in a million kind of dog, he was my supaah staah.”
Cheddar is one of Brooklyn Nine-Nine's most popular characters. He was known as Captain Holt's "secret weapon."
What's more, he was the ring bearer at Jake and Amy's wedding.
The role of Cheddar has been played by several corgis throughout the show's six-season run, but Stewart had the longest tenure in the role.
He is survived by his sister Stella.
Fans were understandably upset at hearing the sad news and took to social media to pay their respects to the furry friend.
"We all loved him and he made millions around the world a lot more happy," one fan said, adding:
"May he enjoy a place with many bones and fun."
"So sorry for your loss! He made me love corgis and made me love Brooklyn 99 even more."
