at . Comments

There is always news in the world of television, and today is especially fruitful.

EW did an interview with George R.R. Martin about what to expect from the Game of Thrones prequel, so we have those details here for you, as well as a trailer for Light as a Feather Season 2, and news of The Society renewal, among other things.

Check out bits and bobs from the world of television below!

Nowhere to Go

If you haven't watched The Society on Netflix, get on that.

The Society follows a group of teenagers who are mysteriously transported to a facsimile of their wealthy New England town without any trace of their parents. Their newfound freedom will be fun... but it will also be very dangerous.

As they struggle to figure out what has happened to them and how to get home, they must establish order and form alliances if they want to survive.

And the story will continue as it's been renewed for a second season to air in 2020. Production will begin later this year as Chris Keyser returns as showrunner and executive producer alongside Marc Web.

Light as a Feather S2 Poster

In other series news, all 8-episodes of Light As A Feather premiere Friday, July 26 only on Hulu, and the season will continue on Friday, October 4.

Having inherited the curse brought on by the lethal game of “Light As A Feather,” McKenna finds herself plagued by the mysterious chrysalis on her back, a ticking clock compelling her to play a new round of the game…But McKenna refuses, unwilling to put anyone else in harm’s way.

However, as the curse begins to destroy her from the inside out, she’s forced to turn to the only person who can help her -- Violet.

Returning cast includes Liana Liberato as McKenna, Brianne Tju as Alex, Haley Ramm as Violet, Jordan Rodrigues as Trey, Brent Rivera as Isaac, and Dylan Sprayberry as Henry.

Light as a Feather Leads

New cast includes Katelyn Nacon (The Walking Dead) as Sammi, Froy Gutierrez (Teen Wolf) as Ridge, Adriyan Rae (Atlanta) as Peri, Alisa Allapach (The 15:17 to Paris) as Amanda, Kira Kosarin (The Thundermans) as Nadia, Alex Wassabi (Wassabi) as Luke, Robyn Lively (Teen Witch) as Deb and Alan & Alex Stokes (Brobot).

Light as a Feather is created and executive produced by R. Lee Fleming Jr. and produced by AwesomenessTV, Wattpad, and Grammnet for Hulu.

Good news for gamers who are also Cupheads. The game is getting developed as an animated series for Netflix.

Selling over four million copies, the game features hand-drawn animations inspired by 1930s Fleischer cartoons and won best independent game of 2017 at the Game Awards.

The series will expand the characters from the game, most notably Cuphead and his brother Mugman as they make a deal with the devil in a high-stakes gambling match.

Other games getting developed for TV include The Witcher at Netflix, Halo at Showtime, Ubisoft's Skull & Bones, and a version of Myst on the horizon.

Cupheads Devil

EW had an interview with George R.R. Martin about what you can expect from the Game of Thrones prequel, and I think you're going to like it.

The show, which takes place 5,000 (five THOUSAND) years before Game of Thrones will feature a very different Westeros than the one we've come to know.

Instead of worrying that winter is coming, this series will feature the preparation for The Long Night. Fan favorite villains the White Walkers are at the heart of that confrontation.

If you thought Seven Kingdoms was a lot to juggle on Game of Thrones, you'll have a lot more to keep up with as there are about 100 of them. They're petty, but every kingdom is petty before it dominates, right?

Direwolf

The Starks will be featured as they're descendants of the First Men, as will the direwolves. And you'll find a Mammoth, too. The Lannisters, though, weren't in the picture.

Instead, the Casterlys after whom Casterly Rock was named will be their predecessors. They got swindled by Lann the Cleaver to create the House of Lannister. That tale may or may not be featured in the prequel.

Although we know there are three women in the forefront of the prequel (Naomi Watts, Naomi Ackie, and Denise Gough), Martin says leads may be a thing of the past as it's a true ensemble.

The Long Night could be the title of the prequel, as it's Martin's favorite, but he's also keen on The Longest Night, which he considers a suitable replacement.

Farrah Fawcett Poster

On A&E tonight, you can catch the latest biography about my childhood idol, Farrah Fawcett.

Biography: Farrah Fawcett Forever is a celebration of the life of the actress ten years after her on June 25, 2009.

Fawcett is an icon who made an incredible impact on pop culture and fashion.

Shocking the industry by walking away from one of the largest television shows of the time, Fawcett worked hard to shed her sex symbol image by taking dramatic roles in movies like Extremities and The Burning Bed.

If you've ever wondered why this woman stands the test of time, this is a documentary you don't want to miss.
