Lela Loren has already lined up her return to the small screen.
The former Power actress will play Danica Harlan in the second season of Altered Carbon.
Netflix has confirmed that her casting was kept under wraps, and the actress has already filmed all of her scenes in Vancouver, British Columbia.
It's not surprising that the news was kept quiet, especially when you consider that Loren exited her series regular role on Power on Sunday.
Power Season 6 Episode 1 was a wild start to the sixth and final season, and I won't be going into detail on that one in case you have yet to watch the episode.
Loren’s character on Altered Carbon is called Danica Harlan.
She is the charming and ambitious governor of planet Harlan's World. She has the support of the people but keeps an uneasy grip on the political players who surround her.
Loren joins a cast that already includes Anthony Mackie as Takeshi Kovacs, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Quellcrist Falconer, Chris Conner as Poe, Dina Shihabi as Dig 301, Simone Missick as Trepp, Torben Liebrecht as Colonel Carrera, and James Saito as Tanaseda Hideki.
Altered Carbon is based on the groundbreaking cyberpunk novel by Richard K. Morgan. The world of Altered Carbon takes place over 300 years in the future.
Society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent.
Aside from Power, Loren has appeared in a string of hit TV shows and movies. She has had roles in the likes of The Mentalist, Bull, Gang Related, and The Closer.
A definite premiere date for Altered Carbon Season 2 has not been set, but Netflix notes that it will be sometime in 2020.
It will span eight episodes.
