What to Watch Next Week: CBS Fall Preview, The I-Land, Friday the 13th Marathon

This is one of my favorite weeks of the year!

Why? Because there is a Friday the 13th snuggled all up in here. Who doesn't love that??

Sunday, September 8

9/8c Witness to Murder: A Darrow Mystery airs on Hallmark Channel AND Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. That's how much faith the networks have in the franchise!

Kimberly Williams-Paisley on Darrow Mysteries, Family, and Charity

And they should have that much faith because the series has an incredible pedigree with Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Wendie Malick, and Tom Cavanaugh solving mysterious cases written by Phoef Sutton who also wrote episodes of Boston Legal.

In this outing, Joanna's past comes back to haunt her, and Claire has her mother's back all the way.

9/8c Succession Season 2 Episode 5, "Tern Haven," on HBO offers viewers a broader look at the 1% when the Roy family mixes it up with the Pierces as Waystar Royco gets closer to a merger.

Monday, September 9

9/8c CBS airs it's Fall Preview Show.

The new CBS shows we're most impressed with so far include All Rise starring Simone Missick and Wilson Bethel as former colleagues adjusting to the rise of Missick's Lola Carmichael to judge. The series also features Marg Helgenberger.

Walton Goggins is The Unicorn, a comedy about a newly single mann who is the toast of the single's crowd. Rob Corddry and Michaela Watkins help him navigate new (and sometimes treacherous) waters.

Evil is one of the most frightening shows to hit broadcast in some time. Starring Mike Colter and Katja Herbers, it is kind of like The Exorcist meets The X-Files with all of the awesomeness that entails.

We have no idea what's going to be on the CBS Fall Preview show, but be on the lookout for those and more.

9/8c The Deuce returns for its third and final season on HBO.

We Never Expected to Love These 'Ships. Yet, Here We are.

9/8c A Very Brady Renovation premieres on HGTV featuring the cast of Brady kids renovating the iconic house to it's original (on television) state.

This might be one of the most highly anticipated shows of the season, so don't miss it.

Tuesday, September 10

Fans of comedian Bill Burr have something to look foward to as his latest special arrives on Netflix. It's called Bill Burr: Paper Tiger.

Are These 'Ships Unfairly Hated, or Did They Get What They Deserved?

Mr. Mercedes returns to DirecTV/AT&T Audience Network for its third season.

Hodges has a personal connection to the latest murder in town, and he also works aggressively to ensure Lou doesn't spend the rest of her life in jail after saving the world from Brady Hartsfield.

Thursday, September 12

The I-Land drops on Netflix, but we haven't had an opportunity screen it. We have high hopes, so if you like mysteries like Lost, then be sure to give it a look.

10/9c Mr. InBetween Season 2 premieres on FX.

This one kind of flew under our radar, but I know that fans of Yellowstone have been watching and love it, for what that's worth.

Friday, September 13

It's a day of horror. Look at the date!

Foreign series Marianne drops on Netflix. It looks like quite the scare fest.

Unbelievable also drops on Netflix.

Starring Toni Collette, Merritt Wever, and Kaitlyn Dever, it's an adaptation of the Pulitzer-Prize winning article, "An Unbelievable Story of Rape," and the subsequent story "Anatomy of Doubt," written by Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich).

9/8c Murder in the Bayou premieres on Showtime. Is there anything scarier than real-life? Yeah, it's hard to beat.

Based on a best-selling book, this five-part true crime docu-series investigates the unsolved murders of 8 women whose bodies were discovered in drainage canals and on desolate back roads in and around Jennings, Louisiana.

21 True Crime Shows You Shouldn't Watch Alone

In examining the lives of the young victims -- and the violent sex and drug trade they were a part of -- the series uncovers the secrets of this troubled town.

These discoveries lead to even more shocking revelations, exposing corruption, bad actors and institutional injustices that have left the town still searching for truth.

11/10c Room 104 returns to HBO. If you haven't watched any of the previous seasons of this mind-blowing anthology series in the vein of The Twilight Zone, you need to get on that.

And never fear, sports fans! Murder sports, that is. Friday the 13th (1980) will be airing on AMC at 8/7c followed immediately by Friday the 13th Part II.

AMC has planned their entire day around the Friday the 13th franchise, so if you're game, get in front of the TV at 10 AM ET to begin your day the way you should.

You can also find Friday the 13th: The Shocking Truth Season 2 Episode 2 on Reels at noon. It explores the inspiration behind the movies.

9/8c Forever in My Heart airs on Hallmark Channel.
