Finally, we learn why he was so important to Patricia on A Million Little Things Season 2 Episode 4, but his presence has caused tension among everyone involved, including Gary.
Also, Katherine and Delilah faced off, and Katherine was welcomed into the group.

Is Patricia's attachment to Eric unhealthy or an understandable part of her grieving process?
Christine: It’s understandable, but I’m not sure it’s healthy. Patricia has put her marriage and her relationship with her daughter in jeopardy because of her attachment to Eric.
The fact that she’s kept Eric a secret for so long is what has made this go off like a bomb in her family. There had to be a better way of handling this that wouldn’t have been so hurtful to everyone around her.
Meaghan: Understandable, but I agree with Christine that it is not necessarily healthy. She is using Eric to take away her grief instead of facing it head-on. If she loses Eric from her life, that grief will return, and she will be alone. It is okay to have Eric in her life, but I think she needs some therapy.

Jack: I agree that Patricia needs therapy.
While watching the scene between Patricia and Maggie, all I could think was that Chad's death tore apart their family, and Patricia is using Eric as her substitute Chad -- which is definitely unhealthy. I think she is avoiding her grief by pretending that Chad is still alive because Eric has his heart.
Many fans feel Maggie is overreacting, being too melodramatic, and responding to her mother childishly about the Eric reveal. Do you agree?
Christine: No! Losing her brother was one of the most traumatic events of Maggie’s life. She trusted the story she was told about what happened, and she just got completely blindsided by her mother’s lies. I think Maggie’s got the right to a little bit of melodrama.

But I think she owes Gary a huge apology for running off and not contacting him all day. Making him worry about her like that wasn’t fair and has made him feel like a secondary person in her life.
In the span of a day, she’s made Gary feel like Eric is more important, which is the same thing Maggie feels her Mom has done with her.
Meaghan: I don't think she was being dramatic when she found out that her mom lied about the circumstances surrounding her brother's death. However, when she went to the airport to see her mom and pulled the "he was always your favorite" card, she stopped being as sympathetic to me.
That moment felt childish and not in line with who Maggie is. Her mom went through a trauma, and, understandably, it was difficult for her to be in a hospital in a situation where her only remaining child might pass away.

Was it fair to Maggie? No. But it is understandable, nonetheless. It doesn't mean she loves Maggie any less.
Jack: I found Maggie annoying throughout this episode. Yes, her mother lied, but it's not like it changed anything. Chad was dead when she got to the hospital, period.
And then she just ran away, plus got mad that her mother didn't JUST focus on her during the cancer.

I'm sure if Maggie had a client in therapy who told her this story, she would be encouraging them to process the feelings and react in more mature ways.
Maggie and Eric have already formed a bond. How will it affect her relationship with Gary?
Christine: It’s going to be an adjustment, but that was bound to happen. Gary and Maggie have been everything to one another throughout her cancer, and now that they aren’t terrified Maggie is going to die, they will both form connections with other people.
I just hope that Maggie doesn’t become as attached to Eric as her mother has. She misses her brother so much that I can see that happening, and that will be a problem.
Meaghan: If Maggie draws a line, then I think she and Gary will be fine. She is already leaning on him instead of Gary, though, and that is opening up a huge can of worms.

Jack: I don't see it necessarily being a problem, as long as Maggie is aware that Eric isn't actually Chad. It's fine for her to have a friendship with Eric. But she definitely shouldn't be leaning on him instead of Gary.
Was the highly-anticipated faceoff between Katherine and Delilah anti-climactic or well-executed?
Christine: Completely anti-climatic, but then again, Katherine isn’t one to cause a scene. Katherine should have been able to talk to Delilah in private, so she could go off on her as she deserves.

Meaghan: Anti-climatic, but I'm glad it was. Katherine took the high road when Delilah deserved much worse. That is the difference between Katherine and Delilah.
Jack: Anti-climactic, but I was fine with it. Katherine and Delilah need to come to terms with each other. They ARE tied together because Eddie is Charlie's father. I respected Katherine a lot for taking the high road with this.
Do you think Katherine will be embraced by the group now? If so, do you like how it was resolved?
Christine: She should be! Katherine is an amazing person. She’s helped Delilah save her home, and she’s pushing Eddie to be a father to his daughter with Delilah. Katherine is a good person who deserves better friends.

Meaghan: I really hope so. She is the only significant other on the outside of the group, and it has never made any sense to me. Maggie was embraced after five seconds of knowing them. Katherine deserves better, and hopefully, now she can get it.
Jack: I hope so. Honestly, it would be pretty crappy for them not to embrace her. She regularly puts her feelings aside to help Delilah and respects that Eddie is the father of Delilah's baby even though she hates that fact.
She would probably fight hard in court for any of the group if they needed her, so they'd better be good friends to her!
How long do you think Eddie can keep up the facade of pretending he isn't Charlie's dad? Where do you see this storyline going?
Christine: He already can’t do it. He wants to be Charlie’s Dad. Charlie deserves to have her Dad. Anything else is selfish, but telling Sophie, Danny, and Theo is going to cause some damaging emotional fallout.
There are no easy answers here. My guess is the kids will find out one by one, starting with Sophie somewhere around mid-season, and she may end up blaming her mother for her father’s suicide. I just don’t see how any of this won’t be a mess.
Meaghan: They need to come clean. This secret can't stay secret for long. They are better off telling the kids now and dealing with the fallout rather than wait years and years and have the kids feel like they were lied to all of Charlie's life.

Jack: I agree with everyone else. They need to tell the kids NOW. Theo is already picking up on the fact that Katherine is reluctant to be around the baby, and Sophie is lurking around with her phone.
Someone is going to overhear something eventually, and it's better they hear it from the adults involved.
Is there any storyline or character you're having a difficult time enjoying?
Christine: I’m so glad Regina stopped whining about Andrew and the restaurant. I know she has underlying issues, but when she called the blackout a sign from God, I’d had enough.
Things go awry, and you have to learn to roll with it and keep moving forward. It was a relief to see her invite people in during the rainstorm and make the best of it.
Meaghan: The Eric storyline is something I'm having a little trouble with right now. I normally love Maggie, and it is making her less likable in my eyes. I also don't like that Gary and Maggie are most likely going to be very affected by him.

Jack: I rolled my eyes when Gina said the blackout was a sign from God. I'm glad THAT didn't last long. I'm also glad there was no PJ this week, as that's the storyline I really can't get into at all.
What was your favorite moment or quote from the episode?
Christine: Katherine’s friend at work telling her to either leave Eddie or decide she’s sticking with her marriage.
He was right. There is no in-between. There are no guarantees, but being in a constant state of “trying” is just keeping one foot out the door.
I'd understand if you never wanted to see Eddie again, and I'd understand if you took him back. He's your husband, and you have a child together. What I can't understand is trying to make it work. You either make it work, or you don't. Katherine Saville doesn't try to win cases; she wins them. If you're going to be in, be all in.

Meaghan: Theo singing to Charlie. I'm such a sucker for moments like that, and it was just so sweet to watch.

Jack: What Christine said. That conversation was my hands-down favorite. I loved Katherine's co-worker telling her, "Katherine Saville doesn't try to win cases. She wins them."
