Bless the Harts Scores Early Season 2 Renewal at FOX

Well, this is an early renewal!
FOX has pulled the trigger on a renewal for Bless the Harts, ordering a second season of the comedy series for the 2020-21 season.
Bless the Harts is the first new fall show to garner a renewal for next season.
For now, the freshman season is set to run 13 episodes, so it's doesn't appear that it will get any more episodes this season.
Still, this is a great vote of confidence from FOX for the show's future.
"Bless the Harts is an incredibly sharp, yet sweet, series that complements the FOX Animation Domination block perfectly,” said Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn.
"It simply doesn’t get much better than having a comedy anchored by talent like Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Ike Barinholtz, Jillian Bell and Kumail Nanjiani."

"We want to thank creator and executive producer Emily Spivey, whose unique voice and personal experience brought this family to life, as well as executive producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and our partners at 20th Century Fox Television."

Despite the renewal, the show has not been an immediate success. It is currently averaging 3.3 million total viewers and a 1.0 rating with delayed viewing factored in.
However, it does fit well into the network's Animation Domination line-up, regularly pulling in ratings on par with the other three shows on the night.
Fox is now the only network to extend any of its freshman class. Prodigal Son was recently upped to a 22 episode season following strong ratings.
NBC is the only other network to make some decisions on its freshman shows. Sunnyside got the pink slip, but the network has vowed to produce all 11 episodes, and will air them on streaming.

The Peacock network made a decision on Bluff City Law earlier today, revealing that it would not get a back order, but it could return for Season 2.
