There's no end in sight for The Walking Dead.
The hit AMC drama series that kickstarted one of the most viable franchises around has been renewed for an 11th season.
The news is a little bit surprising, especially when you consider the rumors from earlier in the year that the upcoming 10th season would be the final chapter.
Showrunner, Angela Kang confirmed the news during the show's New York Comic-Con panel. The news comes just one day ahead of The Walking Dead Season 10.
We've already watched the first handful of episodes of the new season, and it features the increased quality that The Walking Dead Season 9 benefited from.
Under the eye of Kang, the series is back to its roots and delivering storylines that matter, and it's all backed up by some horror to boot.
Many thought the series was going to languish following the loss of Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, but the show has improved as a result.
Sometimes, it's best to switch things up. It was a risk worth taking, and many fans will agree. Looking ahead to The Walking Dead Season 10, we know the characters will still be worried about the constant threat of the Whisperers.
These villains can be anywhere at any one time and can disguise themselves among a bunch of walkers. That's creepy!
The arrival of Princess -- a fan favorite from the comic books was also revealed at NYCC, and we already know who will be playing the character.
Paola Lázaro will take on the iconic role.
In the comics, Princess comes into contact with the greater group during a field trip away from Alexandria.
Michonne takes a group of survivors on an expedition to a new community discovered by Eugene during the radio communication that was teased on The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 16.
Princess lives on her own in Pittsburgh.
She joins the group on their mission and becomes a pivotal part of the team from that point on.
This casting could suggest that Kang is already thinking about what the series would look like post-Whisperers, meaning that this storyline may not be getting dragged out for as long as some of the others on the series.
Lázaro is probably most well-known for her roles on Lethal Weapon and SMILF.
The Walking Dead Season 10 launches Sunday at 9/8c, and it's an episode you will want to watch live!
