Treadstone is blossoming into one of the best shows on cable.
More Cicadas got introduced on Treadstone Season 1 Episode 3, and the intrigue continued to heighten as a result.
It was the best hour yet, and that's because the stakes continue to rise. The layers are slowly getting pulled back to reveal more about Stiletto Six and how the characters are involved in it.
Mysteries can go one of two ways on the small screen: They either get dragged out for dear life, or they give the right amount of information to keep viewers engrossed every single week.
Treadstone falls into the latter category, and it genuinely feels like we're getting a new Jason Bourne movie every week.
Now that Tara has the key that can decrypt the launch codes, her part in everything is starting to become clear. She's driven by her passion for accuracy when it comes to reporting on things in the journalism world.
At one point, she was disgraced, and saving the world from terrorists will allow her not only to repair her reputation but instill hope that fake news is not going to win in the end.
By the end of her adventure in Paris, she was ready to allow Mr. Edwards in on intel on a need-to-know basis. That was a strategic move because she knew she needed a contact who could help if disaster struck
Many have speculated that Tara is a Cicada based on the way she acts. It's possible and something that we could be finding out down the line.
With everyone seemingly crossing each other, it wouldn't have been all that surprising to learn that Tara was being set up to get arrested for trying to purchase the launch codes.
The man from the embassy who supplied her with the decryption key certainly raised my suspicions, but if there are people already after her, he must know that she can handle herself. That is assuming she doesn't get arrested when she tries to flee France.
I need to set the story straight. People have to know the truth.Tara
Mr. Edwards was happy that Tara told him some stuff, but he has to be smart about it. He knows that he could be getting played. That's why he said he couldn't sanction her big move to Ghana.
These two will cross paths again and look for them to realize that they can only trust each other when more details about the conspiracy come to light.
Taking Samantha to the bar was a dumb move on Doug's part, especially when you consider that he didn't know what he was walking into.
Even more silly was that he put Samantha's life on the line by asking whether the woman was in the bar -- in full view of an agent.
The fight scenes at the house were thrilling, but the biggest surprise was the agent saying that Samantha knew a lot more about Doug than she was letting on.
That perfectly explains why she was adamant that Doug took the medication on Treadstone Season 1 Episode 1, but still, it was a great twist in the tale.
Doug is going to face an uphill battle to get through to her. All of the agents have essentially been brainwashed into thinking what they are doing is right.
We need to find out more about Samantha's motives for working with such a devious company. Did she only get together with Doug to use him as a Cicada? We need to know.
We're at war. The human mind is the new battlefield, it seems. If we're gonna win, we can't be afraid to match our enemies' brutality.FBI Boss
Randolph's friend double-crossing him was not a shock. However, Randoph's boss killing the friend and then making Randolph find Petra to find out about the brainwashing so that they can weaponize it for themselves was a positive development.
It indeed starts the process of explaining why the activation is now happening to everyone across the world. Remember, Randolph found Petra's watch at the facility, and then she still had it years later.
That's how we know they meet again. Whether they will start to play on the same side, we don't know, but one thing we do know is that Yuri is not to be trusted.
He was shacking up with Petra in the past, but somewhere along the way, he realized that she was not to be trusted. She put her life on the line for 24 years to guard a missile.
That must have been a bitter pill to swallow, but now everyone thinks she's served her purpose and should be taken out of the equation.
Petra is going to get revenge on Yuri. There's no question about that.
The action in North Korea was at an all-time high, and it was easy to feel bad for SoYun.
Mr. Edwards: Does the name Treadstone mean anything to you?
Hank: It never stops. It doesn't stop.
She's been activated, and now her family is at stake. The way she got treated at the party was absurd, and I can only hope she makes it back to her mother's by midnight to save her and her son.
That being said, it did seem like a bit of a stretch for the officer to tell SoYun her fingerprints were on the lethal injection.
This show is great, and I can't wait to see where we go next!
