American Horror Story Twist: Sarah Paulson OUT as Series Regular!

Per Variety, Paulson is hard at work on the upcoming FX series, Mrs. America, and will not have a regular role on the horror franchise for the first time since American Horror Story Season 1.

Despite appearing on three episodes of American Horror Story Season 1, Paulson was an instant favorite with fans, and she went on to have a bigger role on seasons 2 through 8.

A cameo is entirely possible for Paulson, but the series will not feel the same without the actress having a big part.

The news comes months after it was revealed that Evan Peters would be sitting out of American Horror Story: 1984, meaning two fan-favorites are out.

Despite some of the latter seasons struggling to find the success of the initial seasons, Paulson and Peters have been the two constants.

It will be exciting to see whether this takes a dent in the ratings, or if viewers will welcome the new cast with open arms.

Little is actually known about the upcoming season, aside from the fact that it will be set in 1984.

The first teaser released seemed to suggest that it will be a homage to classic slasher movies.

The only returning cast member currently announced is Emma Roberts, who previously appeared in Coven, Freak Show, Cult, and Apocalypse.
