Amy Brenneman is headed to HBO.
The former Private Practice star has signed on for The Leftovers, a drama from producer Damon Lindelof that will be based on Tom Perrotta best-selling 2011 novel.
The series focuses on life on Earth after a Rapture-like event got down, affection everyone in very different ways.
Look for Brenneman to portray Laurie Garvey, the wife of Justin Theroux’s police chief… who abandons her family for a cult.
The cast will also include Emily Meade, Jake Robinson and Liv Tyler, with The Leftovers set to premiere some time in 2014.
