Arrow Season 7 Synopsis Teases a Major New Villain

When Arrow returns for Season 7, Oliver Queen will come face-to-face with a string of villains from the past.

The official synopsis for the upcoming season was revealed earlier this week by Warner Bros. when it confirmed the show would be returning to San Diego Comic-Con this July.

"There has been no shortage of close calls for Oliver Queen when it comes to protecting his Super Hero identity, but in the season six finale, he was finally backed into a corner and forced to reveal himself to the world as the Green Arrow," reads the synopsis.

"Now, Oliver will come face-to-face with many of the criminals he placed behind bars, as he makes a new home for himself at Slabside Maximum Security Prison."

"Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, challenging him to redeem his name or risk losing everything."

As Arrow Season 6 concluded, Queen confirmed to the world on live television that he was the vigilante who had been roaming the streets of the city to take down all of the evil forces.

He told the world that he was the one who was getting others to take the fall for his crimes and was rewarded with a stint in Super Max.

The good thing about the situation is that we now know Oliver will come face-to-face with some of the people he's put away in the past.

It certainly raises a question about whether he will be able to hold his own when these villains inevitably join forces to get some revenge on the man responsible for them being incarcerated.

The information about the new villain in the synopsis is surprising, but we think it's fair to assume Oliver is going to be broken when the show returns in October.

He's going to want to make sure his friends and family are safe in the outside world. How far will he really go?

Details are scarce about the new season, but we do know that Paul Blackburn is out, and his character Quentin Lance was killed off on Arrow Season 6 Episode 23
