Bill Cosby Sentenced to 3 to 10 Years in Prison

It's official! Bill Cosby has been sentenced to three to ten years in prison.

Jail time for the 81-year-old comedian was highly likely after he was found guilty by a jury in April.

The guilty verdict was on charges of Cosby drugging and raping Andrea Constand in 2004.

"It is time for justice. Mr. Cosby, this has all circled back to you. The time has come," said Montgomery County Judge Steven O'Neill at the time of sentencing.

What's more, he also denied bail for Cosby. There's a good chance Cosby, who was ultimately led away in handcuffs, will spend the rest of his life on the inside of prison walls.

Cosby's trial was the first celebrity one since the #MeToo movement kicked off. With more 60 women coming forward over the past few years with allegations against him, it garnered a lot of media attention.

Cosby will spend "total confinement" in a state prison and has been fined $25,000.

Constand was in attendance at the sentencing and smiled when the news of the jail time was revealed.

Lawyers for Bill were even lobbying to have him put under house arrest as opposed to spending time in jail.

While other women have come forward, Constand's allegations are the only ones that have brought a criminal case against Cosby.

Many of the other allegations fall out the statute of limitations.

The hearing for sentencing lasted just two days and, in addition to the jail time, he will undergo counseling for the rest of his life and report quarterly to the authorities.
