Blockbuster Season 1 Episode 3 Recap: Evan and Trevin

Percy discovers a beehive inside one of the pinatas and is subsequently attacked by a swarm. While checking out a film for a customer, a cockroach jumps out of a DVD case.

Timmy explains to the customer that Carol's twin grandsons are visiting, and they are pranksters. (Carol owns Hot Piece Of Bass, the hunting/fishing supply store).

Percy enters, informing them that the twins hid a beehive in his store again. Percy and Timmy begin plotting revenge, but Timmy backtracks, stating that Halloween is a lucrative time of year, and he doesn't want to jeopardize that.

Percy reminds Timmy that he's two months behind on rent. Eliza throws her support behind the new, responsible Timmy. A timer begins beeping. Timmy searches for it, opens a cupboard, and gets glitter-bombed.

Connie explains Dia De Los Muertos to Hannah, how it's a reunion with the ghosts of dead relatives. Hannah doesn't understand, comparing it to Santa or zombies.

Connie offers to help Hannah do an ofrenda for her mother, a candy striper who died when Hannah was young under mysterious circumstances.

In Timmy's office, as Timmy gets the glitter off, Percy continues to consider revenge on the twins. Timmy refuses, insisting that he has changed. Eliza brings Timmy a new shirt since his shirt is covered in glitter. Timmy thanks her awkwardly. Eliza leaves, confused.

Percy calls Timmy out on his strange behavior, and Timmy says that since he admitted he likes her, he doesn't know how to act around her.

Carlos digs out some old Halloween stuff from the back. The lightbulb starts flickering. When he turns back, a young man suddenly appears in a Blockbuster uniform. He introduces himself as Damon, explaining he is here to help with the Halloween curation. Carlos insists he will do it himself and goes off to find Timmy.

Kayla approaches Connie with exciting news — last night's Dateline presented a story about a local serial killer (the Shadow Lake Killer) whose victims were redhead candy stripers.

Connie explains that she's doing an ofrenda for Hannah's mom. Kayla and Connie realize that Hannah's mom fits the killer's victim profile, and Kayla posits that she was one of his victims. Hannah brings over a bowl of blueberries, saying her mother loved them, especially the wild ones at Shadow Lake.

Carlos asks Timmy why he hired someone to do Carlos's job. Timmy explains Damon is an unpaid intern, someone he met at Hollywood Harold's estate sale, and it was his idea. Timmy says Damon is a horror expert, and free help is free help. Carlos is annoyed.

Damon pops up, saying Hollywood Harold even had the original cut of Freddy vs. Jason. Carlos leaves the conversation in a huff.

Eliza remarks to Hannah how she's happy Timmy is taking the high road with the twins, only to realize she has a DVD superglued to her hand. Trevin and Evan, laughing, press their bare chests against the glass doors. Eliza wants revenge and storms away, trying to get the DVD off her hand.

Connie and Kayla consider the possibility that the Shadow Lake Killer murdered Hannah's mom. They decide to do some sleuthing.

Kayla asks Hannah some questions. Hannah shares that her favorite restaurant is a little mom-and-pop called Jersey Mike's; her family used to live at Shadow Lake, and her mom was 5"9'.

Kayla points out to Connie that Hannah's mom is holding a book in the photo, and all the Shadow Lake Killer's victims were reading when they died.

Percy and Eliza consider some pranking options for the twins. Timmy tries to talk them down, maintaining responsibility.

In the breakroom, Carlos confronts Damon, asking if he considers himself a true horror expert. He then quizzes Damon on horror movie trivia, which Damon aces. Carlos keeps trying to one-up Damon and finally storms out, annoyed.

Arriving at work on Halloween, Timmy talks to his mom on the phone. The twins have put up a "going out of business" sign on the Blockbuster. He has trouble getting out of the car in his Jurassic Park ranger costume.

Inside the store, a customer tries to buy the ice cream fridge, and Timmy keeps explaining that they are not going out of business. Eliza, in a Murphy Brown costume, guesses Timmy's costume. She also mentions that Aaron has been trying harder since they got back together.

Eliza heads into the back for another attempt at getting the superglued DVD off her hand. She sets off a trigger that sprays her with fake blood. The twins squish their chests onto the glass windows, and Timmy vows revenge.

Carlos, dressed as a vampire, chats with a customer. Damon enters in an identical costume. Hannah, dressed as a dalmatian, wonders if Damon is trying to copy Carlos. Damon approaches pleasantly, noting that they are twins. Carlos hisses, swirls his cape, and exits.

Kayla and Connie have set up a board for their investigation. Timmy enters, saying he will plant stink bombs in the twins' backpacks. He gallops off on his dinosaur.

Carlos recommends Scary Movie 2 to a customer. Damon suggests Scary Movie 4. To Carlos's disappointment, the customer goes with Damon's pick.

Eliza and Percy hide, preparing for an ambush with mustard-filled balloons. Eliza remarks that it's fun hanging out with Percy, and he agrees.

The twins show up. Eliza and Percy stealthily follow them into Carol's shop. Timmy sneaks onto the roof and accidentally falls in through the skylight. Carol comes to check on the commotion and is knocked over by falling stock.

Back in Timmy's office, Eliza reassures Timmy that Carol is fine; she simply reaggravated an old hunting injury. Timmy notes that it's one of the stupidest things he's ever done. Eliza tells him that she told Carol it was the twins who crashed through the skylight, and auntie has sent Trevin and Evan to reform school.

Carlos confronts Damon for stealing his customers, copying his costume, and one-upping him. Damon confesses that it is because he likes Carlos. They proceed to make out in the supply closet.

Connie and Kayla discuss telling Hannah the "truth" they've uncovered about her mom's death. They are about to tell her when Hannah says to them her mom hated reading. Kayla and Connie opt not to tell her, and Connie is pleased with how Hannah seems to have finally understood Dia De Los Muertos — she even wrote a note to her mom.

Timmy finds Percy cleaning up in Carol's shop and offers to pay for the damage, even though the store didn't do as well today as he'd hoped. Percy reassures Timmy that he's got it covered.

Timmy apologizes for not being there as much — he's been preoccupied with Eliza. Percy encourages him to stop mooning over her. Timmy notes that he hasn't been able to spend as much time with his parents since taking over the store. Percy offers to take him out for drinks.

Damon and Carlos discuss their "queer awakening" films. Carlos laments that Halloween is but once a year. Damon tells him that he's part of a group that believes Halloween should be year-round. Carlos subtly pulls away.

Timmy opens the superglued mailbox only to find an eviction notice. Percy defends himself, saying he needs the rent money to pay for his insurance, and tells Timmy he has until the end of next month.
