A security guard detains a Black kid named Malik who says he didn't do anything. The cops arrive and Malik won't go with them. Witten shows up and says she's his social worker and he's on the spectrum. The cops won't listen and tase Malik.

Abigail tells Frank that Witten filed an IA complaint against the officers — who are in Jamie and Eddie's precinct.

Erin wants Anthony to come with her to a luncheon with someone whose endorsement she needs.

Danny gets Baez a donut. They are about to eat it when a car crashes into their parked vehicle. The car is driven by a teenage girl who claims that they weren't watching where they were going even though she was the only one moving. Danny notices a smell. Nope, not weed — there's a body in the trunk.

Stevens confronts Eddie about Witten and is obnoxious but Jamie says since Eddie is the PDA delegate she has to represent him and not talk to Witten about it.

There is no way to ID the girl as her prints aren't in the system. She wants them to let her go.

Erin talks with the woman who says her endorsement will lead to a win. Erin claims not to have decided yet. Anthony says Erin is not a usual candidate and will run away from an inauthentic campaign. Bobbi says she is tired of backing people who get nowhere once they are in office. She wants to vote for Erin and she hasn't voted for anyone since John Lindsey.

A guardian comes to help Trina who insists she is innocent. She stole the car but didn't kill anyone. The guardian says she is also an attorney. Danny says he is sending Trina to juvenile detention.

The car's owner is an old lady who says a boy and girl were in her car and made a rude gesture before driving off. The ME calls. No fingerprints or DNA match for the victim.

Frank goes to see Witten. She says he shouldn't be here on police business. He wants to know off the record what happened. She says Malik is autistic and can't stand holding things in his hands so he put candy in his pocket. Frank says that Malik escalated the situation and gave Stevens a concussion. Witten quips that Stevens isn't bright anyway. Frank doesn't appreciate that. He thinks she overreacted and she should remember what it's like to have to make split second decisions.

Rachel finds Eddie in the parking lot and asks why she is dodging her. Rachel asks if they can talk in hypotheticals. She doesn't like Eddie shutting her out.

Danny and Baez tell Trina that they want to make a deal. Trina was looking for her birth parents and stole the car so she could go see them. She says the boy with her is named Mikey and won't tell them where to find him if they don't get her out.

The Dream Team disapproves of Frank seeing Rachel. Also Sid thinks she's a traitor. Frank tells Sid to cut that out. Anyway he got nothing from this.

Bobbi wants Erin to get rid of Anthony in exchange for endorsement. Erin says Anthony is her work husband. Bobbi says Anthony is a former NYPD detective with a spotty record. She says that Anthony's family won't like the attacks that are coming if he is part of Erin's team.

Danny and Baez look for Mikey but he isn't where Trina claims he is. Danny thinks she's lying and sending them on a wild goose chase. Baez says Elana could be like this some day. Danny says he can't deal with the wisecracks. He gets a call and Trina asks Baez how she puts up with him. Danny says they found a print on the dead guy's watch — it's Trina's.

Anthony doesn't like politics and has decided to transfer to another bureau as there will be nothing for him to do and he's not camera ready.

Trina admits she knew the body was in there and she knew the body was in there. She says she was scared of "him." Jaden — he's real and is in his 30s. He looks after a bunch of homeless kids and they do whatever he wants: Shoplift, sell drugs. If they don't he kills them. He made them dump the body. She's sure he wants to kill her.

Eddie walks in and finds someone trashed her locker. She tells Jamie. He confronts the cops who claim they didn't do it and one of them punches Jamie. McNichols comes along and gives everyone a RIP.

Henry says he lost a lot of friends on the way up too. Alliances eclipse friendships. Erin thinks he sounds like Frank. Erin is upset that Anthony seems done. He tells her to reread Gift of the Magi and she will see herself in it.

Eddie talks to Frank about the Witten situation. He admits no one else likes that he saw Witten. He asks if Witten was mad at the job when she quit. She does recall that Witten quit right after someone spit in her face.

Trina ID's Jaden and then is angry that Danny goes by himself to get the bad guy.

At roll call McNichols announces that Stevens' ex messed with Eddie's locker. She will rescind Eddie's RIP and thinks that no one should have a problem with Eddie. Jamie apologizes to Stevens, who wants a different delegate.

,Eddie again bothers Jamie about sleeping on his back.

Frank tells Rachel that body cam footage shows the officer was justified. Rachel says not everyone sees things his way. Frank says that the body cam footage was from 2018 and Witten was the officer in question. She says she has a different lens. Frank says they might actually see eye to eye if she gives him a chance. Frank says that Malik is lucky to have her. He wants her to be a link between the department and the community by joining the Be Heard program. She wants to think about it.

Danny has arrested Jaden. Baez assures Trina that she is safe. She spoke to Trina's birth parents who want to meet her. Trina isn't happy that Danny is coming too.

Erin meets Anthony and Bobbi. Erin tells Bobbi on the advice of a family member she did some digging — what happened on August 10, 1996? Anthony arrested Bobbi for assaulting her boyfriend. That's why Anthony quit. Erin says from now on she needs the whole truth. She canceled his transfer request. Bobbi is worried that someone could connect the dots. Erin doesn't think that's a problem. She won't announce til the filing deadline so she can keep working.

There is an empty chair at dinner and no one knows who it is for. It is a surprise. The doorbell rings. It's Witten. She and Eddie hug. Everyone is happy to see her.
