Danny sees Trina in front of a store. She is overly friendly and leaves. A store owner comes out and says she quit and then stole some money. He doesn't want Danny giving him any more kids who need a job.
Jamie comes in and finds Henry talking to a podcaster named Alison. She says she does investigative reporting now. She wants to do a piece on NYPD past present and future. She wants to feature Henry. She claims Jamie gave her Henry's phone number. He says he didn't. She says her producer must have gotten it. She hopes Eddie is pregnant. Henry says stop hogging my interviewer. She has waivers for Henry to sign.
Frank meets with some cops who delivered a baby on the street after an attempted robbery. Frank gives them something for their shield. One of the cops involved is missing, and another cop is hesitant about him. Frank asks her about it. The cop in question is the son of the manw ho killed Joe Sr.
A mob boss bothers Erin and suddenly some guy comes in and shoots at him and Erin.
Anthony checks on Erin and Vangelis claims he wasn't the target of the hit and that Erin was.
Jamie talks to Eddie who says that Alison is into true crime but making the cops look bad.
Anthony wants to know who Vangelis' enemies are. Vangelis wants a cappucino and a pastry. Erin tells him if he's a changed man he will tell her what he knows. He wants police protection and immunity. Anthony says not him.
Danny and Baez go to confront Trina. Trina is stoned and Danny arrests her for underage weed possession and petty larceny.
Frank comes to see McFadden. McFadden says if he told the truth about who he was, he would not be allowed to be a cop. He hates what his dad did and changed his name like most of his family because he wanted to be one of the good cops. Is he terminated or not? Frank says you don't know what I know, that is all.
Baez thinks Danny should stop trying to parent Trina and also they are not social workers. Danny feels Trina has had a lot of trauma so he wants to be kind in the hopes she will be kind. He tells Baez to trust him.
Jamie wants to vet the questions. Alison says Henry agreed to no parameters. He says that Alison is making the show about the problems of the NYPD. She complains how she has to focus on clickbait. Henry asks if he is saying to go easy on the old dinosaur and tells Jamie to scram.
Garett wants to know how McFadden got on the job. Sid says the problem is civilian investigators who don't look hard enough at applicants. Garett doesn't think Frank is taking this seriously enough. Sid says that the punk lied and should be fired, end of story. Frank says but he's a good cop. Frank says his isn't the only vote here.
None of Vangelis' enemies look good for this. One of them told Anthony he would pay for the shooter's funeral. Bodyguard was a coward, waiter checked out. Maybe Erin really was the target. Anthony starts listing defendants who might want to come after Erin.
After arresting a weirdo who robbed some people, he gets a call about Trina. One of Trina's friends has been killed. She says it was Jayden. Jayden stabbed Dequan because he wouldn't betray Trina's location. Why is Jayden out when Danny said he'd go away forever?
Danny has made steak for the Sunday dinner. Frank brings up Sonny Malevsky. Erin says if she met McFadden on the street she'd punch him in the nose since the apple never falls far from the tree. Danny says but they know what it's like to be judged for who your father is. Frank thanks them for their thoughts.
Later, Henry confronts Jamie about Alison. He says he has on his to-do list to vet ALison. Jamie wants him to do it right away.
Trina is restless and Danny tells her to stop. He says that there was a clerical error at the appeals court. Jayden stabbed Sarah now and stole her phone. Jayden calls and Danny tells her to act surprised and say she'll call him back in 30 minutes. Now Danny and Baez will trace the call.
Frank meets Joe for coffee and tells him about McFadden. He wants Joe's input on what to do. Joe says my dad… your son… Frank says the most fundamental divide isn't over religion or politics. It's the people who lost a child and the people who haven't. Joe can't imagine. Frank is sure it's the same with a parent you never got to meet. Joe doesn't know what to do.
Alison asks Henry how much he misses being on the job. He thinks about it ten times a day. She says it will be online Friday. Henry says he wants a sneak peek and he wants to see it here. He tells her the first question she asks cops should not be how many people have you killed. Ask how many people have you saved?
Vangelis shows up and complains that he heard Anthony is running down her enemies. She tells him she's not paying for massages and takeout. Anthony calls and Erin hears as a car crashes.
Jayden insists Trina meet him in Red Hook. The cops won't let Trina go with them. She asks to go to the bathroom and knocks out her escort and steals his gun.
Erin gets to the scene. Anthony is fine. The driver is a guy that Anthony collared a long time ago and was after Anthony because his wife divorced him while he was in jail. Vangelis shows up and apologizes. He offers them food.
Trina is in Red Hook hyperventilating. She pulls the gun out when Jayden appears. He taunts her. Danny and Baez show up and save the day and Danny tells Trina to give him the gun. She starts crying and hugs him.
Henry watches his interview. He has made a strong statement in favor of the police. Alison admits she had an agenda and recut it after what Henry said. She wants Jamie to do an interview too. He is not interested.
Trina is arrested for stealing the gun. She says she understands how it is. They can't help her anymore but she will see the judge in the morning. Danny is sorry. Baez is sure Trina will call danny soon.
Frank calls McFadden into his office. He introduces him to Joe. McFadden says Joe looks just like the pictures of his dad. Joe asks how old he was when this happened. McFadden was 14. They were both raised by their mothers and never met Joe Reagan. Joe Hill says he didn't meet the rest of his family til recently. He is sure it is hard to know what his dad did. McFadden says the job lets him give back for what his father did. Frank says he will be disciplined but not terminated.
