Jenna Sommers is the sister of Elena's late mother on The Vampire Diaries. She's been left as the guardian of Jeremy and Elena, but is scarcely more mature than her nephew and her niece.

Jenna does try, though. She's learning to be a mom as she goes, often getting involved with the wrong men. She dates Alaric Saltzman, but the relationship becomes complicated as he tries to keep her safe by not telling her about the supernatural events.

She finds out about everything, and still is not saved. Klaus turns her into a vampire and kills her during his sacrifice in attempting to break the curse.
