Officer Kono Kalakaua is Kelly’s cousin and recent graduate from the police academy. Kono became a cop after being inspired by her cousin. She firmly believes that he was innocent and continues to remind him of that fact. She was recruited to McGarrett’s team as they wanted someone the bad guys might not know yet to help with undercover work.
