Tami Taylor is the wife of Eric Taylor, mother of Julie Taylor, and a guidance counselor at Dillon High School.

Tami often acts as the voice of reason - or opposition - to Coach Taylor, and as of the end of the season, has just found out she is pregnant with their second child. Their decision on whether to relocate to Austin for the new head coaching job he has accepted may hinge upon this new revelation.

She did not approve of her daughter's friendship with the rebellious, older Tyra Collette at first, but began to accept it when she felt guilty for treating Tyra so badly. Tami also became a surprise mentor to Tyra, giving her confidence to succeed in life and go on to college.

As for her daughter's relationship with Matt Saracen, Tami was a lot more reasonable than her better half, who coaches Saracen (the quarterback) on the field. But she, too, expressed great disapproval at the thought of her daughter starting a sexual relationship so young.

Tami Taylor initially was excited about a move to Austin, but changed her mind when she realized that she could not leave Dillon - which had really started to become their town - behind.

As of the first season finale, she told her husband that she isn't going to Austin and that she is staying in Dillon with Julie to raise her baby, and continue helping the students of Dillon High.

Friday Night Lights Quotes

"When Jason Street went down the first game of the season, everybody wrote us off. Everybody. And yet here we are at the championship game. Forty thousand people out there have also written us off. But there are a few out there who still believe in you."

Eric Taylor

We will all at some time in our lives, fall. Life is so very fragile, we are all vulnerable, and we will all at some point in our lives, fall, we will all fall.
We must carry this in our hearts, that what we have is special, that it can be taken from us, and that when it is taken from us, we will be tested. We will be tested to our very souls. We will all be tested.
It is these times, it is this pain, that allows us to look inside ourselves.
