The Glee kids go out for roles in the live nativity Mr. Shue and Coach Beiste organize. Kitty feels unworthy to play the Virgin Mary, but the other members believe that having her play the role of the Sacred Mother will soften her toward her classmates. Students also decorate green-themed trees for the school's contest. Sue reluctantly declares the glee club the winners.
Rachel, Kurt and Santana get jobs working as elves at the mall with Santa. When Santa is a disappointment, they meet a younger, hotter version of the man in red and invite him to their apartment. He robs them while they're passed out.
