13 Shows That Wasted Our Time By: Author TV Fanatic Staff Posted on Published: June 9, 2017 · 6:25 PM EDT · 0 Comments Facebook X (Twitter) Reddit Threads Pinterest With more TV shows on the air than ever, we at TV Fanatic are picky bunch when it comes to what we’re watching. Good shows can go bad, and new shows can be bad from the get-go. Have a look below at the shows TV Fanatic staff felt wasted their time. The Walking Dead1Practically all of the The Walking Dead this season. Starting with the horrible premiere, to the stupid decision to do whole episodes about minor characters, and having the core of the cast disappear for weeks on end, this one is going downhill FAST. – Ron(© AMC Film Holdings LLC. All Rights Reserved.)Criminal Minds2Criminal Minds is one of my favorite shows, but Season 12 was by far the worst one to date. I love Reid, but I could not stand his prison story line, and it felt like a chore to watch each week. Can’t they give the guy a happy story for once? Hopefully now that we’re finally past it the show will be entertaining again next season. – Stacy(CBS/Sonja Flemming)The Originals3Every minute wasted watching the Hollow story unfold on The Originals. The pacing is terrible, the characters spend time having the same conversations each week, and there are no consequences. We’ve seen every beat of the story before with different villains. Nothing ever moves forward. – Mandy(The CW)Grey’s Anatomy4I’ll watch Grey’s Anatomy until the very end. Most Grey’s fans probably will. I just wish the show didn’t take that for granted. The previous season was one of the best of the series, but this season was almost a chore to watch. It was so uneven. Only about half of the episodes were great. The majority of the season was filler leading up to the season finale. They could have easily narrowed the season down to 13-16 episodes and it would have resolved most of the season’s issues. Thankfully, the whole season wasn’t a bust, but half of it was and I’d like that time back. – Jasmine(ABC (Grey’s Anatomy Official Twitter))Pretty Little Liars5All of the filler episodes from Pretty Little Liars Season 7B. We were promised answers on a weekly basis from this final stretch of episodes, but, instead, we’ve had four filler episodes and one episode filled with lame answers. It’s an atrocious way to go out for fans who have watched the series for the past seven years. – Paul(Freeform)Time After Time6Pros: neat concept, very pretty casting, some good lines. Cons: poorly plotted, bad “science” in that they changed the functionality of the time machine. Furthermore, it’s always a problem when the Spaceballs adage is true: “Evil will always triumph because Good is dumb.” – Diana(ABC/Sarah Shatz)Grimm7Grimm Season 6 Episode 12, “Zerstörer Shrugged”: Forty-two minutes of normally fairly intelligent characters making brain-meltingly stupid decisions, combined with a villain whose motivation pretty much boils down to “for the evulz.” In fact, let’s go the whole hog and mention the entire plotline leading up to Zerstörer’s release. Anyone hoping for some sort of awesome, epic conclusion to the mystery of the keys (introduced in the very first episode of the series!) was likely sadly disappointed. – Katie(Allyson Riggs/NBC)This Is Us8The This Is Us season finale? It was such a lackluster episode and actually just felt more like a filler episode than the filler episodes did. It was incredibly focused on Jack and Rebecca and was extremely disappointing that they didn’t reveal how Jack died, or really give any indication. Also, the Big 3 were only shown for a split second on giant cliffhangers for their stories next season, which wasn’t worth it or worth the wait. – Jay(NBC)Days of Our Lives9This ridiculous trapped on an island story on Days of Our Lives. It’s only been going on a week and it feels like it’s been a year. What a waste of good characters and actors. – Jack(© Howard Wise/jpistudios.com)Designated Survivor10There was so much hype about the traitor in the White House on Designated Survivor, I thought for sure it was going to be a significant insider. Instead, it was a guy who we had just been introduced to that hour. The reveal was a complete disappointment and a waste of time, but the show did make it up in the epic way they caught the traitor. For that, they deserve forgiveness for their initial blunder. – Lisa(ABC/Ben Mark Holzberg)Empire11Most of the Lyon family became unlikeable this season on Empire. The only one worth rooting for was Cookie, and part of that was because she was still funny as hell. The show likes to pay homage to its soapy roots, but the whole amnesia storyline was a step too far. Add in the fact that it came when Lucious finally changed his ways. Sigh. – Paul(Chuck Hodes/FOX)Quantico12Quantico is one of those shows that should have 13 episode seasons. The amount of filler on Quantico Season 2 was horrific. The multiple timelines for most of the season were confusing. Do we really need another season? The story was tied up for the most part. – Paul.(ABC/Giovanni Rufino)DC’s Legends of Tomorrow13The majority of this season of Legends of Tomorrow felt like a colossal waste of time. Particularly, everything that pertained to Rip. Why spend a third of the season trying to find him, then trying to save him, then trying to reprogram him, only for him to end up leaving by the end of the season? Are you kidding me? Why did I have to sit through all of that? If Rip was going to end up leaving by the end they could’ve never bothered trying to find him and instead spent the rest of the season competing with The Flash on who can screw up the timeline the most. – Jasmine(Dean Buscher/The CW) Facebook X (Twitter) Reddit Threads Pinterest
