As we head into the 2017-2018 season, we can’t help but question which characters will not make it out of the new season alive.
Some characters are slam dunks to be killed off, and part of the reason for that is because some of the outlandish things they have done in previous seasons.
Others, however, it’s a murkier case and could come down to how well they’ve been utilized.
Have a look below at 15 characters who are on borrowed time.
Rowan – Scandal Rowan deserved to die several years ago. He’s always one step ahead of the characters and tries to manipulate them to do whatever he wants them to. With Scandal entering its final season, it’s time to take him out for good.
(ABC) Cersei – Game of Thrones Cersei has double-crossed just about everyone in Westeros, but turning on her brother-lover, Jaime, will be her ultimate undoing. Look for Jaime to land the fatal blow to kill his sister on Game of Thrones Season 8.
(HBO) Angela – Mr. Robot Angela proved to be quite resourceful during Mr. Robot Season 2, but with Dark Army gearing up to wipe people out, Angela seems like the most likely candidate to cover its tracks.
(Michael Parmelee/USA Network) Frank – How To Get Away With Murder Frank was a problematic character on How to Get Away with Murder Season 3. It was almost like the writers did not know what to do with him. He may be back in good graces with Annalise and her gang, but that’s not to say he will live much longer. How to Get Away with Murder loves to kill people off, but just who will be the one to commit the crime?
(ABC) Diana – Empire Diana and her family waging war on the Lyons was not a good move. The moment Lucious regains his memories, he is going to return to his gang mentality ways and take her and her family out.
Curtis – Arrow Curtis becoming a superhero was one of the most widely criticised parts of Arrow Season 5. Considering Lian Yu blew up with Team Arrow on it, the most likely candidate to die could and should be Curtis.
Gabriel – The Walking Dead Gabriel is one of the dullest characters on television right now. It’s never easy to tell what he really means when he’s speaking with the other characters. He has never made much of an impact on the show, and it would probably make sense to write him out. Would The Walking Dead write someone out without them dying? Um, no.
Quentin – Arrow Okay, so Arrow has a habit of killing off the parental figures, so it would not be all that surprising to lose him during Season 6. He is a great character, but it would rock Oliver and those closest to him to their very core. Could the new villain be the one to kill Laurel and Sara’s father in the line of duty?
(Dean Buscher/THE CW) Nicky – Orange is the New Black Nicky has struggled with many things throughout the years on Orange is the New Black, but she always finds her way back to drugs and that will ultimately be her undoing. She turned a corner during Orange is the New Black Season 5. But how long will it last?
Frank – Shameless Frank is one of the worst people on the planet. He’s always looking for a way to get his latest fix of drugs and alcohol… even if it means leaving his family without a dime. Oh yes, he would sell his family to the mafia without thinking about it. With the show entering Season 8, the end is very likely approaching and that means Frank will likely die.
(Cliff Lipson/SHOWTIME) Detective Hoppy – Stranger Things Season 2 debuts later this year, and we’re already super worried about the fate of multiple characters, but something tells us that Detective Hoppy will be the one to go. He held the key characters together throughout Season 1, so it would make for an interesting narrative if he was taken out of the equation earlier in the season. “Justice for Hoppy” would legit become a thing.
Bryce – 13 Reasons Why Bryce is a despicable individual who was instrumental in Hannah Baker taking her own life. He is a sexual predator, and he needs to get his comeuppance when the show returns. Death seems like the most likely way for him to go.
Abby – The 100 Does any couple on The 100 ever get a happy ending? No. Clarke has been apart from her mother for many years when Season 5 kicks off, and without knowing what happened in the bunker, it’s difficult to know what is going to happen. Abby will likely die because it would destroy Clarke and Kane. I don’t see it happening off-screen during the time jump, but it will likely happen earlier in the season.
(Katie Yu/The CW) Elijah – The Originals The powers that be destroyed the character of Elijah during The Originals Season 4. The path to redemption is long and winding, but considering the show is coming to an end, nobody will be safe. It would not be surprising if Elijah were the one to go at the end because it would send Klaus and the other characters in some interesting directions. If they do go with it, however, there had better be no magical loopholes. Been there, done that and it bored us for an eternity.
(The CW) Katie – Colony Okay, this one may be a bit of a stretch, but Sarah Wayne Callies has a habit of being killed off in the third season of shows she has a main role in. She died in Prison Break and The Walking Dead. Yes, she miraculously returned to the land of the living on Prison Break during Season 4, but we’re still betting there’s a chance she could be bumped off on Colony.
