We’re at the end of Pride Month, so there is no better time to look back and reflect on some of the most iconic LGBTQ+ moments that brought us happiness.
Whether it was character-specific or a relationship on screen that brought you joy, it was always a thrill getting to experience it.
It was also significant because of what it added in terms of representation, offering more options and stories to the LGBTQ+ audience members looking to see themselves on screen.
23 Confessions of Love That Made Us Jealous
All in all, these highlights are always worth rewatching because of the impact they managed to leave behind with them.
Here is a slideshow of some of the most iconic LGBTQ+ moments from our favorite TV shows that delivered us nothing but happiness.
Clarke Griffin’s Existence (The 100) Happiness exists in many versions, and Clarke Griffin’s existence is one of them when it comes to bisexual representation. It isn’t a relationship that makes Clarke a bi icon, but at the same time, if it makes her happy, then it is only an upside. This scene, though, where Clarke has a second just to look incredible and for that bisexual lighting to set in behind her? An honor and a pleasure.
David and Patrick’s Happily Ever After (Schitt’s Creek) From start to finish, David and Patrick’s story was an adorable meet-cute that became a precious relationship. They are a top tier relationship, and their happiness is contagious. We are so lucky to have a world like Schitt’s Creek that allowed us to go on this journey with David to the person that is genuinely his other half.
Kat Learning About Herself (The Bold Type) Kat’s journey was remarkable on The Bold Type because there aren’t enough stories being told like this. Her story was all about letting Kat learn more about herself and having her realize what label works best for her was so gratifying to see. She offers such valuable representation because of her existence.
Catradora (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power) Is it too early to ask for the She-Ra movie where it is all Catradora all the time? Their love is perfect, and we definitely did not get enough of it to last us a lifetime.
Robin Coming Out To Steve (Stranger Things) Robin was a mystery to Steve and the audience for much of the season, so when she found that moment where she could just be herself, it was so important. This added layer allowed Robin to offer representation that Stranger Things hadn’t really offered before.
Alex and Michael Reuniting (Roswell, New Mexico) Alex and Michael had quite a few moments that brought us happiness; this one is special, though, because it was the first. There was so much that lingered between the two of them when we were first introduced to this epic love story, getting to see that in a pilot was incredible.
Ellie Finding Herself With Aster (The Half of It) The Half of It was a phenomenal story that was rooted in Ellie finding out more about herself. Even if Ellie and Aster didn’t officially end the story together, getting to see Ellie make that move was amazing.
Magnus and Alec Wedding Shake Up (Shadowhunters) Alec finally being able to be his true self and grab that happy ending with Magnus was a groundbreaking television moment. So much of the happiness that this scene created was also tied to hope in terms of representation.
Nomi and Amanita’s Constant Joy (Sense8) Everything might have been a mess outside of their relationship, yet inside it was the definition of relationship goals. Nomi and Amanita’s whole relationship was built around working together, trusting one another, and supporting each other. It was healthy, exciting, and it gave all of us hope.
Kate and Sophie’s One Season of Perfection (Batwoman) This one is hard considering we are losing Kate within the narrative of Batwoman, but at the same time, it makes us treasure what we had. The tension and the potential that existed between these two, especially when Kate was a lesbian superhero lead, is a different kind of special.
Kevin and Ray with Cheddar (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) Kevin and Ray are actual goals, so when they are with Chedder, it is the cherry on top. They communicate, and they are just happy in the most simple of ways. Not every relationship has to be over the top to be good, and these two prove that.
Karolina and Nico’s Happiness (Marvel’s Runaways) The time we spent with Karolina and Nico was both perfect, and yet we should have gotten so much more time with them. They were a bright light for many fans, so at least we got to have them for as long as we did.
Archie and Roy At The Oscars (Hollywood) There is so much to discuss when it comes to Hollywood, but this moment when Archie and Roy went to the Oscars together was its own kind of memorable.
Coop and Patience Changing It All (All American) These two don’t get enough appreciation even though their happiness makes our day so much better. It is so easy to find joy in a relationship like Coop and Patience’s, especially when you just want what they have.
The Mystical Trio (Siren) An OT3 is still hard to find, with many shows shying away from exploring chemistry between more than two people. But Siren offered us something soft and wonderful with the relationship between Ryn, Maddie, and Ben.
Oliver and Conner Connecting All Series Long (How To Get Away With Murder) Oliver and Conner didn’t exactly have a “normal” relationship, not when you consider all the murder that happened in between their time together. But it was the domestic moments that made it all worth it; their happiness is just infectious.
Blake and Yang’s Moment of Happiness (RWBY) Blake and Yang might not be together (yet), but that doesn’t make this moment any less important. Getting to see the two of them come together and be there for one another was its own kind of beautiful.
