Two thousand eighteen has been an eventful year for some of our favorite television ‘ships.
Some sailed, some sunk, and others are just stuck in a weird limbo.
Rooting for a couple may get exhausting, but when you’re devoted, there’s no giving up. When the year comes to a close, and your favorite ‘ship still isn’t together, all you can do is pray that next year will finally be their time to shine.

Now that we’ve reached the end of 2018, we’ve listed 17 ‘ships that need to sail during the new year!
Mina and AJ – The Resident
Mina and AJ have so much chemistry and have since they first met her at the hospital. She’s one of the few people who can handle him and wrangle the Raptor because he listens to her, and he brings out other sides to her — softer sides. They learn a great deal from one another, have the funniest banter ever, and they would be so good together.
Ryn and Maddie – Siren
It’s impossible not to see the chemistry between these two. While we’re not sure whether the show features an actual love triangle or just a love fest, Ryn and Maddie’s relationship manages to stand out.
Martin and Lena – Splitting Up Together
While the entire premise of the show hinges on this lovable divorced couple being, well, divorced, they need to give it up and realize that they belong with each other. No one can put up with their quirks like the other. They’re too cute together to be apart.
Simon and Isabelle – Shadowhunters
Slow and steady wins the race. Isabelle and Simon’s relationship is built on a strong supportive friendship and we can’t wait to see it finally blossom into something more next year. Season 3B better bring us as much Sizzy content as possible.
April and Ethan – Chicago Med
Even though they broke up last year, it’s clear they still love each other. Honestly, they’re just good together. Despite being back with his ex-girlfriend Vicky, she just doesn’t love him the way April does.
Betty and Archie – Riverdale
Betty and Archie belong together, plain and simple. Their chemistry is off the charts, and their scenes honestly have more love and emotion in them then all of the other ships combined. These two need to at least give things a shot in 2019.
Miles and Cara – God Friended Me
Despite their best efforts to insist they are friends, there is a deeper connection between Miles and Cara. He’s even the reason she dumped Eli. They both have feelings for each other but they will not admit it. Although we love a slow burn, it would be nice if it didn’t take several seasons for them to get together.
Cassie and Izzie – Atypical
We’re actually a little torn on this one because of how likable Casey’s boyfriend is. But there’s definitely chemistry between Casey and Izzie, and spending time exploring Casey’s sexuality and a potential relationship with Izzie would be interesting and add another layer to an already deep character.
Tyrone and Tandy – Cloak and Dagger
Through the season, it’s become obvious that Tyrone and Tandy belong together. They are always there to support each other and their friendship is a highlight of the show. While this one may be a slow burn, it’s definitely worth the wait.
Jason and Sam – General Hospital
Jason has been back for over a year and Sam admitted she still has feelings for him months ago. They love each other and enough is enough. It’s reached a point where it feels like a little too much of a tease.
Bellamy and Clarke – The 100
Bellamy and Clarke are the king and queen of slow burn. The chemistry is there, the story is there, and the love is there. Truly, the only thing we’re waiting for is the writers to get there. 2019, don’t let us down!
Macy and Harry – Charmed
There’s definitely something between these two. Maybe it’s because Macy is the oldest and they both tend to parent the other two on occasion, or they both are kind of nerdy and reserved. Macy and Harry just have a really cool vibe and seem to “get” each other.
Caitlin and Ralph – The Flash
The shows hinted at this relationship a couple of times but they still just remain friends. It’s been a while since Caitlyn’s had a love interest and Ralph continues to grow as a character. The two would mesh really well together and have the potential to be another corner stone romance for the show.
Jason and Janet – The Good Place
Jason and Janet were so sweet and funny together in Season 1. Unfortunately, Janet has been forced to hide her feelings for Jason through who knows how many reboots, and at times it was literally destroying her. Now that Jason knows (again) that he and Janet used to be a couple, it’s time for them to get back together.
Teresa and James – Queen of the South
Teresa and James have had chemistry from the beginning and they finally went there with their relationship in 2018. But many things came between them and they ultimately parted at seasons end. These two would literally die for one another and it’s time for them to be honest with each other and try things out for real.
Nia and Brainy – Supergirl
Nia and Brainy are absolutely adorable. They have an obvious connection and we can’t wait to see what Supergirl has in store for them next.
Yaphit and Dr. Finn – The Orville
Yes, he’s crass and voiced by Norm MacDonald… and a green gelatinous land-bound cousin to Ghostbusters’ Slimer. But he’s also sweet and patient and really smart. They’ve had one intimate episode due to some rogue alien pheromones having a roofy effect on the crew but hopefully they can move beyond that.
