Jane Villaneuva – Jane the Virgin
The Planner. Jane goes all out for her friends and family, plus, her specialty is planning. During the show’s four-season run, she served as a bridesmaid twice, so she has a lot of experience under her belt. The first time, she helped bestie Lina with a case of cold feet and helped her figure out if Danny was the right man for her. The second time, despite all the obstacles thrown her way, she came through to officiate her mother and father’s wedding. She’s also been a bride herself, so she knows a thing or two about the big day.
Jess Day – New Girl
The Fixer. No wedding is perfect. Something is bound to go wrong, so it’s pertinent that you have someone who can smooth things over like Jess does during Schmidt’s wedding. Not only does she stall when Schmidt is trying to convince Cece’s mom to support the marriage, she also helps avoid a major dress crisis.
Rory and Lorelai – Gilmore Girls
The Day Ones. A mother-daughter duo standing up for your wedding is adorable especially if the duos consists of Rory and Lorelai Gilmore. You always want the women who have been there for you since day one to be by your side. Lorelai is even known to throw a bachelorette party for those she’s not too fond of like her mother.
Brooke, Peyton, Haley – One Tree Hill
The High School Besties. I list all three of them because they were all there for each other during their individual weddings. Peyton and Brooke put aside their differences — they were fighting over a boy, obviously — to celebrate Hayley and Nathan! Brooke designed all the wedding dresses, Hayley filled in as Brooke’s maid of honor when Peyton couldn’t make it, and she even officiated Peyton and Lucas’ wedding. Okay, Hayley wins this round!
Will McCormack – Will & Grace
The Gay Best Friend. Who said bridesmaids had to be girls? Sometimes, your best friend is your fabulous gay roommate who will do anything for you including escort you down the aisle and give you away to your Leo. Did I mention he also makes a damn good looking bridesmaid?
Monica Geller – Friends
The One Who Won’t Take No For an Answer and is also a Good Planner. Even though Phoebe fired Monica as her wedding planner, she still stepped up to salvage the wedding when it was threatened by a massive snowstorm. And would you expect anything less than the most romantic wedding of the series from Monica Geller? Shoutout to Rachel Green because those three always come as a package.
Liza Miller – Younger
The Supportive Ex. Liza wasn’t technically a bridesmaid, but she did fly out all the way to Ireland on a whim after receiving a call from her ex-boyfriend who planned to marry a woman he barely knew. Oh, and she promised to be a witness and lie to immigration about it all. It’s no surprise that the marriage fell apart in just a few months.
Princess Eleanor – The Royals
The Honest Soon-To-Be-Sister-In-Law. Honesty is so important, especially on your wedding day. You need someone who is going to be real with you when it comes to life-altering decisions. And what’s more honest than your soon to be sister-in-law telling you that her brother, the King, might be using you to further his hold on the country?
Rebekah Mikealson – The Originals
The Wise One. Rebekah couldn’t have her fairytale love story for many reasons, but she was there to offer advice and support when her sister Freya got cold feet. She helped calm her down, encouraged her to be honest about her feelings with Keelin, and got the wedding back on track.
Izzie, Meredith, Derek – Grey’s Anatomy
The One That Becomes the Bride. Okay, so this is not how a wedding night usually ends, but Izzie put her heart and soul into planning Meredith and Derek’s big day. When they realized she had an inoperable tumor, they gave her the wedding instead fearing that she might not make it. Cancer couldn’t stop her from being a beautiful bride. It’s a reminder that we all need such loving and selfless friends for the happy and sad moments in life.
Kara Danvers – Supergirl/The Flash
The Protector. Kara traveled to Earth-One to be there for Irish and Barry, and despite her own broken heart, managed to be genuinely happy for the both of them. She even lent her singing voice for the ceremony and when Nazi troops crashed the party, kicked butt and helped save the day. Did I mention she has the voice of an angel?
The Ladies of Pretty Little Liars
The Ones That Share a Secret. Through thick, thin and years of torment from “A.” Turns out, nothing bonds a group of teenage girls together quite like a disturbed stalker and deadly secrets. And when the time came for a more joyous occasion, namely Aria’s wedding to former teacher Ezra Fitz, they all showed up to celebrate and support each other.
Blair Waldorf – Gossip Girl
The Employer. Yes, technically, Serena was Blair’s right-hand-woman, but Dorota was her true best friend. In fact, when Blair thinks she ruined Dorota’s wedding because of her turmoil with Chuck, Dorota assures her that they are “family” and wants her to be happy. She’s like the sister Blair never had!
Gabi & Sofia – Young & Hungry
The One That’s Genuinely Happy For You! Gabi and Sofia always put each other first. The way they handled a proposal mix-up in the series finale proved that no matter what, they would always be happy for each other. Gabi was overjoyed when she thought Sofia was engaged, and when it turned out to be Gabi’s ring, Sofia wasn’t even mad because she was thrilled her bestie got the man! And who can forget the one time they helped Betty White find the love of her life in Vegas?
Kevin & Randall – This Is Us
The Brothers. Technically, they weren’t Kate’s bridesmaids, but they were the closest family she had. They were by her side when she ran away to grieve their father and then again, during the ceremony when they walked her down the aisle. There’s nothing more beautiful than the sibling bond, especially two brothers who would do anything for their sister.
The Sex & the City Ladies
The Pros. These ladies have gone to so many weddings, they are pros! These are the ladies who know you better than yourself, don’t judge you, will calm your wedding anxiety, help you pick out the perfect Wang dress and who show up just as eager for your second wedding as they did for your first.
Ann – Parks and Recreation
The One Who Will Get It Done. The maid of honor turned dress designer is a keeper! Ann hustled and scrounged together all of Leslie’s documents to create the skirt for her unique wedding dress. Honestly, that’s talent and dedication.
