We love any character that works in a hospital on TV.
There, we said it. There’s something really hot about a character who goes out their way to save lives. No, we’re not talking about super heroes. We’re talking about the ones who are (mostly!) human.
Given the popularity of medical dramas this season, you can expect to get some more hot docs on your TV set soon. Some of them might even have made this list!

Remy “Thirteen” Hadley – House
Does anyone else miss House as much as I do? There were a whole host of hot docs on that show. One of the most notable has got to be Olivia Wilde’s portrayal of Thirteen. The character had so many layers and I’ve loved the actress ever since she locked lips with Marissa on The OC. This is one show that probably will end up getting the revival treatment.
Lily Manning – Chicago Med
The show may not have premiered yet, but we’ve seen Torey Devito work in medicine as the helper of vampires in Mystic Falls and the keeper of secrets in Rosewood over on Pretty Little Liars. This marks her first series regular gig and we can’t wait to see what happens for her character! She’s already a favorite!
Alex Karev – Grey’s Anatomy
With McDreamy well and truely away from Seattle Grace, it’s time for Alex to step up to the mark and get some much needed love. We know he’ll never, ever get back with Izzie, but we can dream, right? Also, he’s probably the most experienced doctor on the list, so rest assured that you’ll be in safe hands with him.
Sara Tancredi – Prison Break
We’re still quite speechless that Prison Break is making a comeback, but Sara deserved her place on this list. The hot red head first appeared as Michael tried to make a plan to escape the least secure prison in the world, but her love story with Michael was the only real thing in her life at that stage. Who says a little fumble with an inmate won’t solve all your problems?
Melissa McCall – Teen Wolf
And the award for the best TV mother goes to momma McCall. She may be pulling double shifts at the hospital to pay the bills, but she totally embraces her son’s werewolf ways and even helps out when she can. Now to get the woman a man who she can juggle with her hectic life. We would recommend the lucky suitor to steer clear of Beacon Hills though!
Danny Castellano – The Mindy Project
We don’t doubt for one minute that Danny was encoring this dance when Hulu saved the comedy from cancellation. It was a HOT routine. You can tell that by the way Mindy totally wants to take a trip to bone town with him every episode. The man does have patience putting up with his baby mama’s antics. Patience is a good trait to have, right Fox?
Ellie Bartowski – Chuck
Ellie could get anyone’s heart racing. With her cosmic wit, good looks and her just being a genuinely nice gal. She did always seem to find herself in peril, but good old Chuck would always save the day, even if she was almost killed a few times. Paging NBC for a Chuck Revival right about now.
Alexandra Pantierre – Heartbreaker
NBC may have broken our hearts by delaying the show, but we’ve seen an early cut and can promise it will be worth the wait. Plus, it has Melissa Freaking George, who we’ve already witnessed working in a hospital over on Grey’s Anatomy. Can it be midseason yet?
Will Collins – Emily Owens, M.D
He may be keeping it real in the land of the daytime soap right about now, but before all that jazz, he played a smoldering doctor on CW’s Emily Owens, M.D, which totally deserved more episodes, if only to look at Justin Hartley some more.
Cassandra Railly – 12 Monkeys
There’s no denying that 12 Monkeys throughout it’s freshman run, but it paved the way for Rebecca Schull to deliver her most engaging performace to date as the doctor who knew it all and I can’t wait to see where we fine her in Season 2!
Cat Tyler – Proof
Jennifer Beals has been breaking hearts for decades and her turn as Dr. Carolyn “Cat” Tyler on Proof only proves (ha!) that she hasn’t lost a single bit of her charisma over the years. What doesn’t she understand, exactly?
Christa Lorenson – Code Black
CBS is jumping back into the land of the medical drama with Code Black, which debuts later this month. Bonnie Somerville portrays Christa and from what we’ve seen already, she plays her role very well and would easily get anyone’s heart racing!
Zoe Hart – Hart of Dixie
If you’re looking for a confident, witty doctor, then look no further than Bluebell’s finest Zoe Hart. The CW may have made a foolish decision by ending the show, but we can rewatch the show on Netflix and to be fair, it did get an ending, so there’s that.
John Dorian – Scrubs
Who could resist the charm of Zach Braff as the the hilarious Dr. JD on Scrubs? Sure, the show got a bit long in the tooth and the dreaded final season that should have been called a spin-off, but when Scrubs was at it’s best, it was good.
Jo Saltzman – The Vampire Diaries
When Jo popped up for the first time in Mystic Falls, we instantly fell in love with her. Everything about her felt really fresh. It may be due to the new mythology the show needed and she brought a lot of that with her. It sucks that we had to say goodbye to her on her wedding day.
Christian Troy – Nip/Tuck
Nip/Tuck was one of those shows that was unlike any other and to go along with that, it had the some of the finest looking actors on TV. Throughout the shows six season run on FX, we went to hell and back with Christian. We got to watch how his crazy lifestyle affected his ability to maintain friends and family. We can’t forget the countless steamy scenes he shared with people, either.
Jack Sheppard – Lost
Jack was one of those characters that won over viewers with his personality as well as his looks. He always had a plan, and I’m sure that’s what Kate saw in him throughout their crazy relationship.
