There’s nothing better than seeing strong powerful women exemplified on television. So in other words, there’s nothing better than female characters in general.
Some characters use physical strength, some use mental intuition, and others use a combination of both.

No matter what special skills and abilities these women have, they’re all kickass and powerful characters we just can’t help but adore.
In the words of Arianna Grande, God is a woman and these 21 TV characters can prove it.
Chloe Decker – Lucifer
The fact that Chloe is a homicide detective with the LAPD is already cool. But the fact that she’s able to stand up to the actual devil himself is downright bold. She’s not afraid to take on anyone and will do whatever is necessary to uncover the truth.

Jessica Jones – Jessica Jones
Don’t mess with Jessica Jones. Just…don’t do it. Her determination mixed with her badassness is a combination you do not want to experience in a fight.

Nico Minoru – Marvel’s Runaways
Nico may be able to wield a crazy powerful staff, but that’s not the only thing that makes her awesome. She’s funny, intelligent, and can stand her ground no matter who she’s facing.

Wynonna Earp – Wynonna Earp
Wynonna Earp can singlehandedly take on a demon without so much as an eye roll. But don’t let that fool you from just how complex and emotional she can be as well. Wynonna is literally the entire package and the kind of character you don’t see often.

Carrie Mathison – Homeland
Carrie can overcome just about anything. And there’s no question that she’s had some serious crap thrown her way. But despite it all, she still manages to prevail and stay true to herself.

Cheryl Blossom – Riverdale
Cheryl Blossom is a force to be reckoned with. Whether she’s holding you captive with her bow and arrow or her glare, Cheryl is someone whose bad side you do not want to be on. You can always count on her to come up with a scheme to get you out of any situation. Or get you into one since chaos is basically Cheryl’s middle name.

Sara Lance – DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
Sara Lance is probably one of the greatest and most intense characters to ever be brought to life on the CW. Sara is literal so lethal in a fight even a group of trained assassins at once couldn’t take her out.

Annalise Keating – How to Get Away with Murder
Annalise is a lawyer you would give just about anything to represent you. This woman is the definition of powerful and can stun any courtroom into silence or descend it into chaos.

Kara Danvers – Supergirl
They don’t call her the girl of steel for nothing. Kara is adorable, quirky, and an absolute nightmare if you try to hurt someone she cares about. She stopped an airplane from crashing through the sheer force of her will. Kara Danvers is a friend anyone would want looking out for them.

Gina Linetti – Brooklyn Nine-Nine
The human form of the 100 emoji. The Paris of people. The ultimate human/genius. A natural, beautiful presence. Gina pretty much summed it all up for us.

Sarah Manning – Orphan Black
Sarah will literally fight like there’s no tomorrow and pour herself into everything she does. There are very few things she wouldn’t do to uncover the truth about herself and is conniving enough to get out of almost any situation.

Brooke Maddox – Scream
Brooke is a lot more than she originally appeared. She has developed into a character with an unflinching resolve who will do just about anything to get justice for the people she cares about it.

Isabelle Lightwood – Shadowhunters
Not to be biased, but Isabelle Lightwood is probably our favorite character on this list. She may be an insanely fierce warrior/Shadowhunter who fights demons, but she’s also kind, caring, compassionate, and would do anything for her friends.

Raven Reyes – The 100
Need something blown up? Raven Reyes can make it go boom. She’s the smartest person on the planet (literally) and is one of the main reasons she and her friends were able to make it as far as they have.

Emma Swan – Once Upon a Time
Emma Swan is the savior of basically everything. Her love for her son saved his life, and she literally went to hell and made it out alive in order to save her true love. Even before she had magic, Emma Swan was a force to be reckoned with.

Karen Page – Daredevil
Karen’s character could’ve gone an entirely different route, but we couldn’t be happier about the complex and powerful person she’s become. It’s impossible not to be completely captivated in her story and to always wonder what she’s going to do next.

Thea Queen – Arrow
The amount of character development Thea has undergone since the beginning of Arrow is remarkable. She quickly went from an irresponsible teenage girl to a vigilante who fights for the people of Star City.

Mary Stuart – Reign
Mary Stuart is a queen. Literally. You can’t get any more powerful than that. She always wanted to do what was best for her people, but she was also headstrong and prepared to knock down anyone who would stand in her way.

Iris West-Allen – The Flash
There really isn’t a single thing Iris doesn’t excel at. Whether she’s reporting or assisting Team Flash, Iris puts her all into everything she does.

Daenerys Targaryen – Game of Thrones
We can’t say enough about Daenerys Targaryen. How about we leave it at, “Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regent of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons.” It may be a mouthful, but it’s all true.

Lauren Cooper – Faking It
Lauren started off the show as an antagonist when really she was just a kickass girl who was strong AF. If you try and stop Lauren, expect to get trampled.
