She breaks through for a minute and asks Seth to kill her, but he can’t do it. In turn, he tries to torture the demon to free Kate, but Kate had been through too much already.
Jane finds out Michael is dead – Jane the Virgin No. Just no. This moment was one of the most agonizing scenes on all of television. The way Jane collapses and screams at the top of her lungs over Michael’s death gave us physical chest pains.
Mark is ready to reunite with Lexie – Grey’s Anatomy Mark had to watch the love of his life die in a plane crash, and now he’s welcoming death so he can be with her. It’s fine. We’re fine.
Clay talks to Hannah in his mind – 13 Reasons Why After listening to Hannah’s tape about him, Clay realized he should have told Hannah he loved her when he had the chance. The scenario plays out in his mind and both Hannah and Clay are brought to tears.

Eve stabs Villanelle – Killing Eve Right when we thought the two were having a moment, Eve stabs Villanelle and shatters our hearts. However, Eve regrets it immediately and starts panicking to try and save her.
Fitz sacrifices himself for Jemma – Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. There was only one mask to get them to the surface and despite Jemma’s protests, Fitz insisted that she take it. But Jemma didn’t give up on him, and she dragged Fitz to the surface with her despite how close to death he was.
Kat and Adena take a break – The Bold Type We all saw this coming but it didn’t make it any less painful. Adena wanted Kat to experience other relationships and Kat just wanted Adena. But Adena was starting to feel a bit trapped and her artwork was suffering from it. We still have our fingers crossed that they’ll make it work in Season 3.
Alex and Maggie end their engagement – Supergirl This was honestly the most heartwrenching breakup. Alex and Maggie love each other so much, but neither could budge on their opposing feelings about having kids.
Lindy leaves Tommy – Eye Candy Lindy doesn’t want to put anyone else at risk so she leaves to get to the bottom of her case alone. Tommy begs her to let him come, but she refuses.
Alex breaks Michael’s heart – Roswell, New Mexico Michael thought their relationship was a much bigger deal than something that could be silently written off. But then Alex had to be a heartbreaker and leave both the audience and Michael close to tears.

Even though The Good Place is a sitcom, Chidi and Eleanor have experienced more angst than all the dramas combined. Every time they find each other, they lose each other again. They’ve been losing their memories of each other for centuries now, and we’re tired of the pain.
Clarke leaves Bellamy behind – The 100 Reliving this scene hurts. Bellamy and Clarke are best friends and actual soulmates, so Clarke leaving Bellamy behind to an unknown fate killed us in every way possible.
Emma is forced to kill Hook – Once Upon a Time Considering how many times Emma has lost Hook, you’d think it would get easier. News flash, it doesn’t. Emma literally went to hell to save Hook and still had to come back without him. We are so happy that after all that, they got the happy ending (or happy beginning) they deserved.
Stiles tells Lydia he loves her before he’s erased from existence – Teen Wolf Stiles and Lydia had been dancing around their feelings for each other for 5 seasons. When Stiles finally tells Lydia he loves her, he’s ripped out of her hands and taken by the Ghost Riders before she has a chance to say it back. Lydia is left with tears streaming down her face repeatedly telling herself to remember him.
Amy reconnects with Adam after the tornado – Superstore Jonah has always been in love with Amy, and when a tornado hits and they realize they’re about to die, they hold onto each other and kiss. But after all the dust settles and they survive, Jonah watches Amy run back into her husband’s arms. If you look at Jonah closely, you can see the moment his heart shatters.
The Doctor leaves Rose – Doctor Who This is one of the most iconic and agonizing scenes of TV to date. In fact, “Rose Tyler” even became a meme. You knew you were on a time limit, yet you couldn’t just speak a little faster and get the “I love you?” out???
