Happy National Hugging Day!
Hugs can truly be the softest and sweetest exchange between two people, no matter what their relationship may be. And there are more than enough hugs that fans love if this tweet thread asking for suggestions is anything to go by.

It is all about the aesthetic view of the hug, but also the context behind it. Over time we have managed to collect a good amount of options for any hug fan to feel warm inside.
There is no way to showcase all the powerful or fun TV hugs that make us jealous and of which we wish we were included, but this slideshow is a taste of some all-around favorites. Enjoy!!
Oliver and Felicity – Arrow Oliver and Felicity have been through so much together that just seeing them take a break from all the drama to spend time with one another is so special. They bring each other the kind of comfort most of us wish to have in our lives and they look like they both give the best hugs.
(Jack Rowand/The CW) Madi and Clarke – The 100 When Lola Flanery says that her favorite The 100 hug is Madi and Clarke seeing each other again, then you make sure that her choice is front and center on a slideshow. Madi and Clarke always make us smile, so since we don’t know anything about The 100 Season 6 we can at least hope for more hugs from our favorite mother/daughter duo.
(stevenrogered (Tumblr) /The CW (gif)) Susie and Roz – Chilling Adventures of Sabrina These two are the cutest and we aren’t worthy of them. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part Two needs to deliver on all the Susie and Roz cuddle sessions, it makes us feel like we are there with them almost.
Nathaniel and his stuffed toy – Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Nathaniel might be good now, but he wasn’t as much before. Well, unless you ask this stuffed toy that was there for him while he missed Rebecca. Best. Hug. Sequence. Ever.
Bellamy and Clarke – The 100 These two losers love to hug each other so much that they literally have a hug for every season that they are in together. The reason this specific one made the list was because of how soft, warm, and truly loving this hug looks. Clarke and Bellamy went through a lot in The 100 Season 3, the fact that they found a moment of happiness just being in each other’s arms makes this hug the true winner.
Alec and Clary – Shadowhunters Alec and Clary had some of the best friend development that we got to see on screen, but Shadowhunters, in general, had too many hugs to choose from. This is a wonderful one because it came from these two getting to know and respect each other.
Lucy and Wyatt – Timeless The fact that it was hard to choose which of their hugs to put here means they have more than enough to make us jealous. The real goal is to find someone who will hug us like Lucy and Wyatt love to hug each other.
FP and Alice – Riverdale When two people have this much chemistry with just a hug, there are no words to describe them outside of this embrace. But really FP and Alice are hug goals because they have the perfect timing and the emotions to make their connection add to their embrace.
Chloe and Lucifer – Lucifer A good height difference makes the perfect hug, with Chloe and Lucifer serving as the perfect example of that. This looks so warm and safe, we all deserve this A+ level hug.
The Clark Family – Fear The Walking Dead Family is important and if we just focus on this gif, maybe we wouldn’t remember how Fear the Walking Dead took that from us.
Monty and Jasper – The 100 Pain is real and it lives in this moment where Jasper pulled Monty out of the cage. Because we hate ourselves, it somehow felt appropriate to include this in our favorite hugs because the love between these two can’t be replicated.
Charles and a friendly possum – Brooklyn Nine Nine Possums are probably not worth hugging because of the general danger of it, but this actually looks kind of cute. Maybe it was the search for Cheddar that got us all so mushy for animals that time, so Charles finding a new friend really makes us wish we did too.
Max and Alex – Roswell, New Mexico A different hug all around, Max and Alex’s meaningful private moment is still giving us such chills. This is a face hug more than anything and our heart is so happy at the possibilities for these two.
Iris and Barry – The Flash Iris and Barry are goals in every single way. Relationship goals, friendship goals, and now hug goals because they make us wish we were there hugging them too. And isn’t that what this has all been about?
Dwight and Michael – The Office Just that memory of Michael coming back for Dwight’s wedding still pulls at us, these two grew into friends that we can only dream of having as well.
Logan and Veronica – Veronica Mars All we ask is that the Veronica Mars revival gives us at least two more hugs between Logan and Veronica. We need them … for reasons.
Daryl and Rick – The Walking Dead Daryl actually had quite a few well-loved hugs, but the one he shared with Rick is the one that will go down in the books. There is so much going on here, and yet we can’t stop wishing that this was a threeway hug which included us as well.
Sansa and Jon – Game of Thrones Just look at these two and their epic hug. Why can’t we all have someone that will let us jump in their arms for such a close embrace?
Buffy and Angel – Buffy and the Vampire Slayer Now, this isn’t exactly a happy hug that we want to be included in, but the emotion behind it is so strong. Buffy and Angel went through so much together, it would be a crime not to include this here.
Hurley and Sawyer – Lost Any Hurley related hug was the best thing Lost ever gave us, end of discussion.
Sam and Dean – Supernatural These two have had some of the best hugs, it is impossible not to root for these brothers to give us even more of them in the future.
The Doctor and Donna – Doctor Who There are actually a lot of fun hugs that the different versions of The Doctor have been part of, but there is just something about this one with Donna that makes us envious right now.
Cassie and Cole – 12 Monkeys We are still all in denial about 12 Monkeys being over, which is why reflecting on this hug somehow makes us feel a little better.
