Every shipper’s journey starts somewhere, and if you grew up in the 2000s, you had quite a few OTPs to start you down the rabbit hole.
Networks like Disney Channel and Nickelodeon may have been a combination of children’s sitcoms, but there was always that one relationship you were rooting for on each series.
Even if you didn’t realize what was happening until later in life, there’s no doubt that one of these couples started it all for you.
Robin and Starfire – Teen Titans Who didn’t ship these two? Robin and Starfire were obviously meant to be and it was impossible not to freak out whenever they shared a scene.
Sam and Freddie – iCarly This could also go for Carly and Freddie, but there’s no denying that Sam and Freddie were the real OTP of the series. It was entertaining to watch their constant bickering turn into a romance, and while it was the last thing we expected, they were a surprisingly perfect match.
Arnold and Helga – Hey Arnold Everyone knows the real reason Helga called Arnold “Football Head.” Her crush on Arnold was obvious to everyone and we just wanted her to stop picking on Arnold and let him know how she felt once and for all.
Chase and Zoey – Zoey101 Chase and Zoey were the OTP that made you either love or hate slow burns. It was an agonizing few seasons waiting for Chase to tell his best friend how he felt about her, and when he finally did he ended up in another country. But true love prevails and Zoey101 proved that sometimes it’s worth the wait.
Lily and Oliver – Hannah Montana Lilypop and Olipop. Did anyone else not see this coming or was it completely obvious? But the two best friends of the protagonist turned out to be a perfect fit.
Alex and Mason – Wizards of Waverly Place Alex and Mason were two pure and adorable people that deserved to be happy together. Alex had her fair share of love interests over the series, but these guys were the only ones that ever gave us the feels.
Ned and Modze – Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide It’s your classic best friends to lovers situation. As usual, it took Ned to realize that what he was looking for was right in front of him all along. But it seemed like Modze always knew that Ned was the one for her.
Nick and Macy – Jonas Nick and Macy were just meant to be. They came such a long way from when they first met and they turned out to be the only people who could see each other for who they really were.
Zack and Maya – The Suite Life on Deck Zack Martin was a children’s sitcom definition of a player. But Maya wasn’t taking any of his crap and that’s what made her and Zack perfect for each other.
Quinn and Logan – Zoey101 No one, and we mean no one, saw this coming. Quinn and Logan hated each other for most of the series and Logan was kind of the worst. But when he fell for Quinn they quickly become one of the cutest couples on the network.
Jake and Rose – American Dragon: Jake Long They were the original enemies to lovers. In fact, they were legit archnemesis. But Jake and Rose proved that true love really does conquer all. n
Chad and Sonny – Sonny With a Chance Chad and Sonny were OTP goals. They were a slow burn, bickering couple who were always trying to ignore their feelings for each other. It’s a shame the show was canceled before they could get back together.
Candace and Jeremy – Phineas and Ferb All Candace ever wanted to do was hang out with her crush, Jeremy, but she kept letting her need to bust her brothers get in the way. Still, we couldn’t help but root for them.
Miley and Jesse – Hannah Montana Team Jesse or Team Jake? You may have been Team Jake for a majority of the series, but the tables really turned when Jake turned out to be a complete jerk. Jesse loved Miley unconditionally. Team Jesse all the way!
Zuko and Katara – Avatar: The Last Airbender Zuko and Katara, the couple that taught you what it felt like to be robbed of an endgame. They really prepared our shipper hearts hardcore.
Nat and Rosalina – The Naked Brothers Band Was anyone else constantly stressed out by the status of their relationship? Nat and Rosalina were hands down the Nickelodeon couple with the most angst.
Justin and Juliet – Wizards of Waverly Place Justin finally found his perfect match in Juliet. The episode where she aged up centuries and had to leave Justin was one of the most heartbreaking moments of our childhood. But true love always finds a way.
Danny and Sam – Danny Phantom Paulina was the worst possible love interest for Danny, and frankly, he deserved better. Thankfully, he finally realized that his best friend was the one for him.
Kim and Ron – Kim Possible If you say you didn’t ship them, then you’re lying. Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable are the OG ship of every kid who grew up in the 2000s and they deserve every bit of praise.
Bloom and Sky – The Winx Club We’re talking about the original Winx Club. The one that came on 4kidsTV every Saturday morning. Bloom and Sky were an epic love that had the whole package. Build up, angst, fluff…we couldn’t have asked for more.
Raven and Devon – That’s So Raven We’re just going to ignore the events of Raven’s Home and focus on the 2000s. Raven and Devon were an epic and adorable couple that we were rooting for throughout the entire series. But are there any Team Eddie fans still out there?
Cody and Bailey – The Suite Life on Deck If you were spending your days longing for Cody to just tell Bailey how he felt about her, then you were a shipper in training. Bailey was the perfect girl for Cody and the series ended with their relationship in a good place.
Cindy and Jimmy – Jimmy Neutron Did they hate each other or love each other? We still don’t know to this day. They went from 0 to 100 and back down pretty quick, but that didn’t stop us from rooting for these kiddos.
Lizzie and Gordo – Lizzie McGuire You didn’t even need to watch the whole series to see that they were meant to be. Just watch the Lizzie McGuire movie and it will show you everything you need to know about how precious Lizzie and Gordo were.
Josh and Mindy – Drake and Josh They’re another hate to love ship that ruined our lives. Not only was Mindy Josh’s enemy, but she also turned out to be his first girlfriend. They stay friends even after they break up, but at the end of the series, they realize they’re meant for each other. Under one condition, Mindy gets to be the girlfriend and Josh gets to be the boyfriend.
Phil and Keely – Phil of the Future Wow, Phil. You’re really going to return to the future right after you and Keely finally admit your feelings for each other? Phil of the Future taught us that even though you may want something, you’re not guaranteed to get it. Bring Phil back 2k19.
Joe and Stella – Jonas The relationship between Joe and Stella was a bit of a roller coaster, but it only made us ship them harder. Joe and Stella liked each other from the very beginning, it just took some time for them both to get on the same page.
