During the two-hour series premiere of Cloak and Dagger, Tandy and Tyrone started their journey in discovering their powers. We got a first look at their introduction to their abilities on Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 1. And we witnessed the repurcussions of them adjusting to the changes on Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 2.
The pair have a long way to go before they’re able to control their powers. Plus, Cloak and Dagger has only scratched the surface of their backstories and their future romantic relationship, as well as their relationships with the people closest to them.

Newly Discovered Superpowers
Before their chance encounter in the graveyard, Tandy and Tyrone never experienced any form of superpowers. The pair first received their powers as children after being in the lake during a mysterious rig explosion. Once they reconnected after years apart, their powers were triggered. Tandy has the power to eminate white light and create a dagger in her hand. Tyrone has the power to eminate shadow and teleport in the darkness. Both have the ability to experience visions of someone’s inner thoughts, memories and desires.
Tyrone’s Loss
During the night of the rig explosion, a young Tyrone accidentally caused the death of his older brother Billy when he stole a car radio to impress his brother’s friends. Tyrone and Billy made a run for it after the cops tried to apprehend them, but Billy got caught and shot by a surprised police officer during the explosion. The police covered up the crime.
Tandy’s Loss
While driving during a rainstorm, Tandy’s father was forced off the bridge and their car crashed into the lake. Her father drowned in the accident while she was mysteriously saved by a hand reaching out to her in the darnkess. That hand belonged to Tyrone.
New Year, New Me
Tandy and Tyrone have changed since the rig explosion and the deaths of their loved ones. Tyrone is a stressed out jock who’s parents overprotect him so that they don’t lose him like Billy. Tandy, on the other hand, has given up ballet and resorts to crime with her boyfriend to make money.
Ballet Brawl
Tandy’s latest grift led her to trouble she couldn’t avoid. She drugged a rich kid she met at a night club and stole items/drugs/money from his uncle’s home. Unfortunately, the same guy later on cornered her into an alley outside the ballet with plans to beat, hurt and rape her. Luckily, Tandy’s powers manifested and the dagger stabbed the guy in the chest to protect her.
Evita SO Likes Tyrone
If there was one thing painfully clear in Tyrone’s life, it’s this: His friend Evita totally has a crush on him. You could feel the attraction and chemistry every time they were together in school and at the party.
Mommy Issues
Tandy’s mother Melissa took the impact of her husband’s death the hardest. His company, Roxxon Corp, refused to pay out his life insurance and they seized all files in their home. In the years since, Melissa has resorted to drinking, drugs, career failures, and sleeping with married men. She stole Tandy’s money with the hope of starting a new legal case against Roxxon Corp. (Stealing the drugs was just for pleasure.)
Rise And Shine
Tyrone’s mother Adina, on the other hand, has used her grief to propel her career forward to make sure that Tyrone has the best life possible. Though, she’s a little on edge. We see her aim a gun at something digging away in their trash cans.
The Hunt
Detective Brigid O’Reilly has been assigned to the case of the ballet stabbing. We don’t know much about her yet, but we do know that she’s onto Tandy and is getting closer to tracking her down.
Dress To Arrest
Speaking of Tandy, she’s desperate to get out of town after finding out that the rich guy has survived the attack and could implicate her. To get new documentation, she and Liam plan to steal money from a wedding. They succeed in their goal, but Brigid arrests Liam for the crime. Will Tandy return to pay his bail or will she leave town?
Team Trouble
Tensions have risen on the basketball court between Tyrone and his teammates. After causing a fight during a game and missing practice (which caused the team to be punished), members of the team took their frustrations out on Tyrone in the locker room. They beat him up and locked him in the storage cage to teach him a lesson.
The Criminal Returns
What is Connors hiding? The mysterious police officer who killed Billy all those years ago has reemerged in New Orleans and he’s up to no good. Thanks to his powers, Tyrone found the whereabouts of his brother’s killer. He wants revenge and plots to kill him with a gun in the same fashion. Unfortunately, his abilities got in the way at the worst time and prevented him from finishing the job.
Cliffhanger!
At the end of Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 2, a distraught Tyrone transports into the middle of the street and shoots his gun at Tandy driving her car. The bullet makes contact at the vehicle and she’s forced to drive off-road to not hit him, colliding into a tree in the process. Has she been shot? Did Tyrone get hurt?
