Lately, fans of The 100 have been frustrated with the series for very valid reasons.
After years of teasing and build-up between the leads of the show, the Season 5 finale did little to progress their relationship in the direction the audience was led to believe it had always been heading.

With Bellamy still dating Echo and the spirit of Clarke’s former love now in her child, things are a little weird, to say the least.
In contrast to things said in the past, Bellamy and Clarke have now been dubbed the title “non-romantic soulmates.” And if we’re being honest, that literally makes no sense at all.

Not only is this different than what the writers had originally said about the pairing, but it’s completely different than what we have witnessed on the show itself.
While shipper goggles can often cause misinterpretations, when it comes to The 100, the emotion behind Bellamy and Clarke’s scenes are made abundantly clear.

It’s so clear in fact, that the show is starting to lose its credibility by using screentime to string along the audience rather than using it to further an awesome story.
People who believe that Bellamy and Clarke’s relationship is made up of purely platonic moments, have to understand that just isn’t the way television works. Every single scene is thought-out, emphasized, and filmed the way that it is for a reason.

We’ve listed 61 moments below that led us to believe Clarke and Bellamy were soulmates in every sense of the word.
And remember, you can witness these moments for yourself by watching the 100 online right here at TV Fanatic!
When Bellamy caressed Clarke’s face to comfort her on 2×08 “Spacewalker”
There’s a huge difference between checking out someone’s head wound and sitting there softly caressing their face. Guess which one Bellamy was doing.

When there was a close up of Bellamy gazing at Clarke on 1×03 “Earth Kills”
This shot looks like the beginning of a love story. You know, if you can ignore the dying boy on the ground. But this is The 100 after all.

When Clarke watched Bellamy sleep on 4×03 “The Four Horsemen”
This moment was all too precious. It’s almost like Bella and Edward but minus the creepy factor and a million times better.

When Bellamy gets injured and tries to continue limping after Clarke to save her on 3×02 “Wanheda: Part Two”
Getting stabbed in the leg and bleeding out clearly won’t keep Bellamy from trying to get to Clarke. He was so determined to save her that the whole group had to talk him out of it for his own safety.

When Clarke and Bellamy watch the culling together in comparison to Raven and Finn on 1×05 “Twilight’s Last Gleaming”
Just a couple of bros stargazing next to an actual couple who’s stargazing. If only we could’ve wished on that shooting star.

When Jaha picked up on their connection on 4×03 “The Four Horsemen”
Out of all of their friends, Bellamy is the one that keeps Clarke centered. His response, “you got it backwards,” proves that she does the same for him as well. You know you’re being obvious when your friends start to call you out.

When Clarke thought her love for Bellamy was affecting her judgement on 2×09 “Remember Me”
Clarke was too afraid to send Bellamy in Mount Weather for fear of losing him. But when Lexa managed to convince Clarke that love was a weakness, she told Bellamy that she was being weak by not letting him go. Subtle much?

When Clarke said she can’t lose Bellamy too, comparing his worth to her to her ex-boyfriend on 2×09 “Remember Me”
Directly after Finn’s death, Clarke makes it clear that she can’t lose Bellamy as well. Bellamy’s surprise that Clarke cares so deeply for him hurts our hearts every time.

When Bellamy runs away from the group to save Clarke on his own on 3×02 “Wanheda: Part Two”
Not only did Bellamy sneak away from the rescue team because he thought they were taking too long, but he walked through an entire grounder army to get to Clarke.

When Clarke and Bellamy put each other on the list on 4×03 “The Four Horsemen”
“You jump, I jump.” “If you’re a bird, I’m a bird.” Oh! That’s why “If I’m on that list, you’re on that list,” sounded so familiar.

When Bellamy and Clarke have an extra long hug featuring neck nuzzling on 3×13 “Join or Die”
There was nothing friendly about this hug. If my significant other saw me hugging someone like this, I don’t think we’d be together for much longer.

When Bellamy showed how deeply he was devoted to Clarke on 2×09 “Remember Me”
Bellamy was able to figure out that Gustus poisoned the cup, because of Gustus’ obvious dedication to Lexa. He came to this conclusion because he knew that if Clarke was in danger, he would do anything to keep her safe.

When Murphy compares Bellamy’s feelings for Clarke to his own feelings for Emori on 3×15 “Perverse Instantiation: Part One”
Just another time Bellamy’s feelings for Clarke are compared to someone’s romantic feelings. No biggie.

When they gazed at each other by the firelight on 2×05 “Human Trials”
This scene looks like it’s from a movie about a couple falling in love under the stars. Minus, the injuries on both of their faces.

When they held hands during their conversation on 3×05 “Hakeldama”
Bellamy and Clarke held hands while having an emotional conversation about how Clarke left Bellamy behind and it hurt like hell. Enough said.

When ALIE says that Bellamy’s devotion to Clarke is deeper than his devotion to his girlfriend on 3×11 “Nevermore”
Just another time when Bellamy’s extremely obvious feelings for Clarke were acknowledged by yet another character.

When their shooting lesson got “hands on” on 1×08 “Day Trip”
This gif should speak for itself, but we also have to note that the actual script reads, “Bellamy is thrown by the intimacy of having her so close.”

When they had the least platonic hug in history on 2×05 “Human Trials”
This is still one of the best Bellarke scenes ever shot. The music swelled, Clarke threw herself into Bellamy’s arms, and they spent a good amount of time just holding each other.

When Bellamy thought Murphy hurt Clarke and was protected af on 1×10 “I Am Become Death”
As soon as Clarke is in distress, protective Bellamy mode is instantly activated.

When they flirted on 1×09 “Unity Day”
These two could not stop with the smiling, giggling, and flirty stares and we loved every second of it.

When Bellamy jumped in front of Clarke to protect her on 2×09 “Remember Me”
Not only did Bellamy shout, “CLARKE!” the moment he sensed danger but he threw himself directly in front of her over everyone else who was there.

When Clarke tells Bellamy that she needs him on 1×08 “Day Trip”
“I need you,” is a classic line between potential romantic partners. Peeta and Katniss anyone?

When a chipped Abby knows Bellamy is Clarke’s weakness on 3×15 “Perverse Instantiation – Part One”
ALIE, an all-knowing artificial intelligence thought that even though Clarke wouldn’t break for her own mother, she would for Bellamy Blake. Hmmm.

When the camera lingered on Clarke’s hands as she pulled Bellamy close on 4×13 “Praimfaya”
Nope. There is just no platonic explanation. It’s not even worth trying.

When they had an emotional goodbye on 2×16 “Blood Must Have Blood, Part Two”
There were so many tears and emotions it was hard to tell who was the most heartbroken by this goodbye. But it was hands down the most impactful scene of the series. Bellamy and Clarke are just that powerful.

When they held each other a whole freaking lot on 5×04 “Pandora’s Box”
Bellamy and Clarke never hold anyone they way they hold each other. There’s just something more there which is made obvious in their body language and the way their scenes are filmed.

When the last thing Bellamy wants to see before he passes out is Clarke on 3×13 “Join or Die”
Honestly, what kind of Romeo and Juliet scene was that???

When everyone had to physically hold Bellamy back from getting to Clarke on 3×02 “Wanheda: Part Two”
Bellamy’s friends had to stop him from running through a grounder army to get to Clarke. As soon as he saw her literally nothing else mattered.

When they watch Luna and her boyfriend on 3×14 “Red Sky at Morning”
It was pretty ironic how they had Bellamy and Clarke looking at a direct parallel of another pair of partners who were together romantically.

When Bellamy and Clarke got all soft looking after each other on 1×10 “I Am Become Death”
These two were all kinds of adorable in this episode. They continued to check up on each other despite the fact that they were both sick themselves. Soft and couple-y is really the only way to describe their interactions.

When Clarke holds Bellamy’s hand to stay calm on 3×16 “Perverse Instantiation: Part Two”
Being close to Bellamy and holding his hand gives Clarke a sense of security. And it’s obvious that the same goes for Bellamy as well.

When Bellamy brushed hair out of Clarke’s face on 4×13 “Praimfaya”
Maybe it’s different for most people, but I don’t exactly go around stroking my platonic pal’s hair out of their face. It’s also important to note that this was purposely scripted and shot to give the audience all the feels.

When Clarke decides that taking Bellamy to the bunker is a priority on 4×10 “Die All, Die Merrily”
Clarke was willing to leave plenty of other people outside of the bunker (including Octavia) but she has Bellamy forcibly brought in. It’s obvious that leaving Bellamy behind is never an option for Clarke.

When Bellamy finding out about Clarke’s radio calls to him changed everything on 5×13 “Damocles – Part Two”
Bellamy was pretty angry with Clarke for valid reasons. She did leave him behind to die so she could escape with Madi. But the moment he found out just how deeply she cared about him, it was impossible for him to be mad at her any longer.

When Clarke runs into Bellamy’s arms on 3×12 “Demons”
For some reason, it’s hard to picture any of the other characters falling into Bellamy’s arms like this.

When Clarke was in an intervention with her ex-girlfriend through her daughter’s mind, her daughter, and her platonic soulmate’s girlfriend about how much she cares about Bellamy on 5×12 “Damocles – Part One”
Honestly, Clarke’s former love being in the body of her child is all kinds of weird. But this scene did show us that even Lexa is on Team Bellarke. Or really that she just wants Clarke to be happy and she knows Bellamy is a huge part of that.

When Bellamy almost confessed his love for Clarke before the end of the world on 4×06 “We Will Rise”
All of Clarke’s goodbyes end with an “I love you,” but Clarke wasn’t having it this time. She wouldn’t even let him finish his thought because she refused to even acknowledge that she might not see Bellamy again.

When Bellamy spent his first night in space with a bottle from the drink he never got with Clarke on 4×13 “Praimfaya”
It’s impossible not to feel the sadness radiating off of this scene. Bellamy’s been trying to have a celebratory drink with Clarke for a while, but when the chance finally came she wasn’t with him to share it.

When Clarke looked heartbroken when she discovered Echo and Bellamy were together on 5×05 “Shifting Sands”
Not only did they focus on Clarke’s reaction to this scene, but the actual kiss was completely blurred out. The sole reason for this shot was to take in Clarke’s expression. It was obvious from her face that whatever she was feeling, definitely wasn’t happiness.

When Clarke tells Abby about her feelings for Lexa and the camera takes in Bellamy’s reaction on 4×01 “Echoes”
So why did Kane look at Bellamy when Clarke’s feelings for Lexa were revealed? And why did we get a shot specifically focused on his reaction? Unless the camera man’s hand slipped it’s safe to say it was on purpose.

When there was that not so subtle transition between Clarke and Bellamy on 2×09 “Remember Me”
One of the most common uses for the dissolve transition is when there is a strong visual relationship between the outgoing and the incoming images. Interesting.

When Clarke called Bellamy every single day for six years on 4×13 “Praimfaya”
This feels like The 100’s version of “I wrote you 365 letters. I wrote you every day for a year!” The only difference is that Clarke was on year 6 and she still didn’t give up hope that Bellamy would come back.

When Clarke said she would do anything if Roan spared Bellamy on 3×02 “Wanheda: Part Two”
Anyone else getting Tangled vibes? Just another time Bellamy and Clake have paralleled another romantic relationship.

When Roan knew the only way to break Clarke’s resolve was by threatening Bellamy on 4×05 “The Tinder Box”
Roan saw firsthand just how important Bellamy was to Clarke and used that against her. He knew that when it came down to it, threatening Bellamy was the only way to get Clarke to cooperate.

When Bellamy threatened to kill hundreds of people if they didn’t release Clarke on 5×03 “Sleeping Giants”
It’s also interesting to note that the script read “Bellamy’s eyes meet Clarke’s, and for just one moment, everything else melts away,” during this scene. Because bros always look at each other like that.

When Madi recognized Bellamy straight away from Clarke’s stories on 5×03 “Sleeping Giants”
The fact that Maddie picked out just Bellamy in the crowd and trusted him immediately to save Clarke says a lot about the stories Clarke told her.

When Diyoza thought they were a couple on 5×04 “Pandora’s Box”
When even characters we barely know think they’re a couple based on their interactions, there’s no way it’s all in the fans’ heads.

When Lexa could tell there was something more between them on 2×14 “Bodyguard of Lies”
What is it about Clarke’s romantic interests always being jealous of her bond with Bellamy?

When Clarke hid the fact that calling Bellamy every day kept her sane on 5×05 “Shifting Sands”
Calling Bellamy on the radio every day helped her keep hope alive. In addition to Maddie, the hope of seeing Bellamy again kept her going. The fact that she chose to hide this from him says a lot about how deeply she feels for him and how nervous she was to express it.

When Clarke heard Bellamy’s voice on the radio and looked like she had never been more at peace on 2×11 “Coup de Grace”
Clarke had given up all hope, but as soon as she heard Bellamy’s voice you can visibly see just how relieved she is.

When Octavia compares Bellamy’s feelings for Clarke as the same as feelings for Echo on 5×08 “How We Get To Peace”
Bellamy’s sister outright stated that Bellamy loved Clarke. And not just any kind of love, the same type of love he feels for his girlfriend. It really doesn’t get any clearer.

When Clarke looked at him like THAT on 2×16 “Blood Must Have Blood: Part Two”
There is nothing sisterly or friendly about this expression. Have you ever seen Clarke look at Monty like this while the music was swelling?

When Bellamy poisoned his own sister because she was going to kill Clarke on 5×08 “How We Get To Peace”
Bellamy never put anyone above his sister. Like, actually never. But there’s something about Clarke that makes her safety his number one concern.

When they held each other like a married couple and ended Book One together on 5×13 “Damocles – Part Two”
What better way to end Book One than having your platonic soulmate pull you into their arms?

When Bellamy sacrificed his relationship with Clarke to keep her safe on 5×09 “Sic Semper Tyrannis”
If you really love someone you put their needs above your own. Bellamy did the best thing for Clarke even if he knew she would never forgive him for it.

When Clarke was jealous of Bellamy kissing Echo on 5×06 “Exit Wounds”
Everything single shot on television is thought out and there for a reason. That’s the only comment that can be made because this gif really speaks for itself.

When Bellamy lost his chill at the idea of losing Clarke on 3×02 “Wanheda: Part Two”
We’ve never seen poor Bellamy in such despair. He lost all rational thought and paid no attention to consequences when Clarke was taken by Roan.

When Monty and Harper chose Bellamy and Clarke to take care of their child on 5×13 “Damocles – Part Two”
The ultimate Bellarke shippers. What better way to get your favorite couple together than have them co-parent your child?

When Bellamy made the ultimate sacrafice so Clarke wouldn’t be alone on 2×16 “Blood Must Have Blood: Part Two”
This wasn’t a choice Bellamy would’ve made for anyone. Clarke very well could have pulled that lever on her own, but he wanted her to know that he would be with her every step of that way.

When Bellamy carassed Clarke’s face (again) on 3×02 “Wanheda: Part Two”
What is it with Bellamy and gently pushing hair out of Clarke’s face?

When they greeted each other like two adorable losers in love after 125 years on 5×13 “Damocles – Part Two”
This is pretty reminiscent of a scene between Clarke and her boyfriend in the first season. There’s really no difference except Clarke looks ten times softer at Bellamy than she ever did at Finn.
