Meet the TV Fanatic Team! Our editors and writers are passionate about television and committed to bringing you insightful reviews, interviews, and features. Get to know the people behind the words!

Owner, Editor-In-Chief

(Carissa Pavlica)

TV Fanatic’s owner and Editor-in-Chief has a background in HR and office management. Carissa pivoted careers in 2009 when her love of TV and writing converged.

She’s written for many TV and entertainment sites, including SheKnows, EW as a Contributor, TVOvermind, CliqueClack, and Collider, before settling in at TV Fanatic as Editor in 2014. She purchased the site in January 2025.

Her all-time favorite shows include The Leftovers, Charlie’s Angels (hey!), Succession, Boston Legal, Fringe, The X-Files, and one-season wonders like Invasion, Harper’s Island, Miracles, and Defying Gravity. Heavy on genre fare, Evil, For All Mankind, Silo, and Resident Alien are current faves. She also loves true crime, documentaries, and considers herself a Hallmark junkie. Eclectic taste for the win!

Carissa is a member of the Critic’s Choice Association and enjoys mentoring writers, conversing with cats, and passionately discussing the nuances of television and film with anyone who will listen.

She’s thrilled to do what she loves while helping others achieve their dreams.

Managing Editor

(Paul Dailly)

Paul Dailly began his career in entertainment journalism in 2014, writing for TV Fanatic, where he quickly ascended to Associate Editor.

In addition to covering breaking news, reviewing new releases, and conducting interviews, Paul has helped manage our team of writers.

Throughout his decade-long tenure at TV Fanatic, Paul balanced his passion for media with academic pursuits, earning an Honors degree in Broadcast Production and a Master’s in Fiction TV Writing.

More recently, Paul has been freelancing for Monsters and Critics, where he continues to share his insights into the ever-evolving world of television and film.

You can read Paul’s work here.

Editor

(Jasmine Blu)

Jasmine Blu is an insomniac who spends late nights and early mornings binge-watching way too many shows and binge-drinking way too much tea.

Her eclectic taste translates to her viewing habits, making her unpredictable and impossible to box in. She deeply appreciates complex characters, diverse representation, dynamic duos, found families, compelling stories, and guilty pleasures.

Leverage is her ultimate comfort show, and Lifetime was a Sunday staple growing up, making her a lifelong fan. She’ll never be over Pitch, Sleepy Hollow, or Prodigal Son, so only bring them up if you’re prepared for a rant.

You’ll find her obsessively live-tweeting on X, waxing poetic, and chatting up fellow Fanatics and readers. You can read her work here.

Writer

(Whitney Evans)

Growing up, Whitney would read the TV guide (the ACTUAL magazine) for fun and fell in love with television at an early age.

She’s known to give anything a watch, though she’s partial to anything dramatic. The more drama, the better!

She loves a good ‘ship — canon or not — and you’ll likely find her on social media reveling in her love for those ‘ships, the latest gossip, and anything else she’s passionate about, including sports and all things wrestling.

You can find her on X talking about all kinds of things. Read her work here.

Writer

(Joshua Pleming)

Joshua Pleming is a staff writer for TV Fanatic who switched from personal trainer to TV show reviewer when he shifted gears to pursue a passion for writing and television.

Vampires, werewolves, and witches, oh my! Joshua loves fantastical and occult shows such as Grimm, Angel, Supernatural, and Buffy, as well as newer series like The Magicians, What We Do in the Shadows and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Speaking of chilling, he’s also a rabid fan of all things horror and spooky-related, devouring every episode of shows like Chucky, American Horror Story, and From.

When Joshua isn’t glued to the tube, he still frequents the gym daily (or nightly!) to find something useful to do with his insomnia in between rounds of high-energy writing that he pours into every article.

If you’re ever invited to a viewing party hosted by Joshua, bring your sweat pants and be prepared to stuff your face with delicious food. He likes to fatten audiences before, during, and after the movie marathon.

Writer

(Laura Nowak)

Laura Nowak is a staff writer for TV Fanatic. As a lifelong fan of TV of many genres, her current favorites are Will Trent, Brilliant Minds, and Alert: Missing Persons Unit. She is a Hallmark and Netflix junkie and adores series like Sweet Magnolias, Ginny & Georgia, the Hannah Swensen Mysteries, and any feel-good show.

Laura loves interviewing actors and showrunners and learning the intricacies of each role. Her other favorite thing is reading and comparing book-to-screen adaptations, such as Liane Moriarty’s Nine Perfect Strangers and Apples Never Fall.

When she’s not writing, she loves to watch many Olympic sports, including Gymnastics, Diving, Swimming, and Figure Skating. And you can find her on X talking about everything and on YouTube, where she specializes in ‘ships. You can read her work here.

Writer

(Denis Kimathi)

Denis combined his love for creative writing and television into one neat package, covering television shows and occasionally films. His mood greatly influences his viewing habits, ranging from bubbly laugh-track sitcoms to twisted serial killers and apocalypse dramas.

He does not like to play favorites, but 9-1-1 brings him unadulterated joy, and DVDs of Chicago P.D. would make his deserted island list.

Denis has watched The Wire, Shameless, Euphoria, and Heartstopper more than once and will probably do it again. He prefers eating on the couch and watching a sitcom to YouTube. Find him on Twitter sharing something random that occurred to him that may or may not be related to television.

Apart from his dynamic coverage on TV Fanatic, Denis is a writer for Collider, regularly covering television and film news.

He is known for his vast knowledge of and prowess in covering broadcast television. He has also written for sites such as Fansided’s One Chicago Center, Fiction Horizon, and Cultured Vultures.

Fun fact: Denis has logged over 500 days of watched TV shows across hundreds of TV shows and thousands of episodes. You can follow him on X and read his work here.

Writer

(Jack Ori)

Jack’s debut young adult novel, Reinventing Hannah, is available on Amazon. You can follow him on X and read his work here.
