Anissa: Aren’t we supposed to be helping people?
Jefferson: We are helping people! But unlike criminals, we have rules that we need to follow.
Anissa: Rules made by whom?
Jefferson: Rules made by me.
Anissa: Guess what, I have a different set of rules because I’m not going to watch my people get taken advantage of.
Jefferson: They are not your people, Anissa! And as long as you are under my roof, you will follow my rules!
Anissa: Khalil?! Have you lost your damn mind? He killed Dad!
Jennifer: Anissa, he killed Black Lightning.
Anissa: Oh, so now you’re sticking up for him? When did he start texting you?!
Jennifer: Awhile ago, but I never hit him back, I swear. Not once, I swear!
Anissa: Yo, you’ve got to shut this down.
Dr. Jace: I told you, Dr. Stewart. They’re all gonna die. It’s only a matter of how quickly.
Lynn: I refuse to accept that.

Deputy Chief Henderson: You forgot something, you translucent freak. You are not going to get away with this.
Tobias: Deputy Chief Henderson. “Translucent.” It’s a very interesting choice of words. It means you can see right through me. And if you can see right through me, then you know what I’m thinking.
[Henderson leaves the room frustratingly]
Deputy Chief Henderson: He orchestrated this whole thing. He killed his former lieutenant, he got rid of our DNA evidence, and he got himself arrested knowing that we would have to let him go. All while rehabilitating his reputation with one stroke.
Montez: Well, the judge would call that a theory. I need hard evidence of something ... murder, obstruction, conspiracy to commit obstruction. Without that, we’re going to have to let him walk. You have about 48 hours if that.
[She walks away from him]
Deputy Chief Henderson: As always, Ms. Montez, you’re a regular ray of sunshine.
Jennifer: Woah! You’re dating Zoe B?!
[She flashes the phone]
Jennifer: Yo, that’s crazy! You’re gonna get crushed though; she gonna love you one minute, forget you the next.
Anissa: I can’t believe you’re following my dating life on social media!
Jennifer: Okay, first of all, ain’t nobody following your dating life, okay. It just popped up. And second, what else do you expect me to do when the only freedom I have is to walk around the block for exercise?
Anissa: I am sorry that I dropped off without a conversation, but you and I weren’t in a relationship. It doesn’t mean I couldn’t have had better manners, but it also didn’t mean I couldn’t see other people.
[Grace adds alcohol to the drink]
Anissa: I sure hope you were seeing other people because you are too damn fine to be lonely.
Grace: Yeah, I was seeing plenty of people, not that it’s any of your business.
[Grace adds a liquid and stares at Anissa]
Anissa: No, no, none of my business at all. Grace, I take my work really really seriously. But, my sister pointed out that it doesn’t mean I can’t take other things seriously too.
[Grace adds an ingredient and they smile at each other]

Peter: They’ve been trying to find Tobias for 30 years. Energy might not be the problem.
Jefferson: So it’s still on us? Nothing has changed.
Peter: Well, not nothing. Tobias has got Painkiller, and he’s got that A.S.A. briefcase of Proctor’s which according to your Ms. Fowdy contains hell.
Jefferson: You know, your pep talks need work.
Jennifer: I’m stuck in here until the wardens release me, but ... hey! Hey! By the way, why do we have wardens plural?
Anissa: I don’t know.
Jennifer: What’s going on with Mom and Dad? Are they getting back together?
Anissa: It’s kinda cute. I think I heard them the other night. I HEARD them good.
Jennifer: ‘Cause they’ve been walking around all emo-like; they’re sexually frustrated.
[Anissa and Jenn laugh]
Jefferson: What are you doing? What are you doing?! We don’t do this for the applause.
Anissa: Dad, chill out. I know! I know that, but there’s nothing wrong with acknowledging the people.

[She walks away to shake hands with people]

[Jenn turns away and her eyes start glowing]
