Severide: Then I’d say maybe you should take your own advice.
Herrmann: Nice, you ever think of applying with the CFD.
Mason: No.
Herrmann: You can tell me to mind my own business, and I’ll hit the road, but I have been doing this long enough to recognize raw talent. What happened? You got hurt? Whatever it was, you’re still young enough. You can always apply with the CFD.
Mason: No, I can’t.
Herrmann: Why not?
Mason: Because I was a firefighter in prison. The CFD won’t hire felons.
Cordova: Been a long time since I jumped in a pool fully clothed.

Boden: I’m proud of you.
Kidd: That’s what I came in here to say. Thank you. You signed me up for the leadership conference when I wasn’t even considering myself a leader. You had that confidence in me. You think you know what that means to someone in my shoes, but you don’t. It meant everything.
Boden: I just saw what was right in front of me: a remarkable firefighter and an even more remarkable person.
